I was going to ask whats the general feeling on Lukaku?? Iv been tempted to get him for about 1 and a half seasons but I got macheda last season and Acquafresca + Borriello this season to have some of the best strikers... (and im interested to what Lukaku's fitness is like as a natural fitness of 7 puts me right off most players)

On the plus this is my new favourite player in the game, just to shout ROYSTON!!!

20m from Anderlecht apparently! Will do though, my chairman at southampton is just throwing money at me :cool: (cant get him till the end of the season though as my squad is a bit too big and having all the best young players tends to lead to them going to prem rivals...)

In fairness, he can probably play for any team from 16. The coaches won't rate him as highly as the others, but he'll still play well. I think i paid £9m or so in the first season, and hes worth about £34m and probably the best real striker left in the game as Dzeko etc aren't quite as good as him anymore. He'll get loads of goals and assists.
 
^^ sweet im sold! :D cant really accommodate him in the january transfer window but come july the saints will have another exciting youngster!
 
Buy him sooner than later I think. He is 20 in my game at the moment and to be honest he hasn't progressed that much. Can't be bothered buying him myself. :D

Getting him under the wing of a a more experienced striker early on helps. Like you say, he was plodding along in my game for the U18 team. I then bought in Cardozo, got him tutoring Lukaku and his stats jumped up by a couple of points each.
 
I use a 4-4-2 with the wingers pushed forward both playing as inside forwards (left footer on right wing and visa versa, for my Udinese team Alexis Sanchez and Juan Albin)

my strikers are a target man playing as a complete forward (Dzeko) and a trequartista who acts like a playmaker in the final third (G. Rossi)

Two central midfielders keep it simple and anchor the team (Gokhan Inler as a Central Midfield - support, Zuculini as a ball winning midfielder - support)

left back and right back play as either full backs or wing backs (but in the full back position) depending on how easy the game is (Criscito left, Cuadrado/Mazzarani right)

Centre backs I play with one normal, one cover (Felipe and Zapata respectively)
Then keeper just standard (Akinfeev)

Really my team play is all about the skill and movement of the four attacking players, Inler and Zuculini just keep the ball moving about looking for an opening. Rossi drops deep to pick the ball up and looks to play either Sanchez or Albin moving in off their marker, or the roaming full/wingbacks who can put a cross in for Dzeko.

What formation have you been using?
Well, it's not really good to chop and change too much, that's probably why you can't find a tactic to give you the results you want. Best thing to do is to go back to basics and use the default tactics and roles and change various settings to suit your players you have....imo better than downloading someone else's tactics.

I use 442 diamond with a little width and play direct.
2 defensive cb's with one with a slighly higher attacking mentality.
My 2 fullbacks are using default settings (full back,auto)
DMC set to hack down everyone in own half
AMC (Att Mid, support)
Wingers to often run with the ball and cross. One cuts inside and one hugs the touchline.
ST, one is a complete forward and the other a deep lying forward.

Against tougher teams like Chelsea, I might change it little in the midfield, otherwise I'd get destroyed :D

Oh and for the formations, im still a huge fan of 4-4-2, strong play maker in the centre of midfield, fast wingers and a creative forward :)
 
I like spending money. New season, new transfers. :D :D :D


Got lots of youngsters in, all those that have gone out on loan are all youngsters getting some first team experience. Also got Akinfeev coming in at the start of January on a free because his contract was ending. Needed a new CB while my youngsters are getting ready, should be ready in 2 seasons time I think, got a couple who will be ready next season though so I brought in Bruno Alves. Needed some new midfielders as well because Ledley and Eagles can't really cut it to be honest against the big teams and Ronaldinho retired, so brought in Hazard and Fabregas. Ribery and Lampard are mainly there as back ups and to use as role models for youngsters. Zarate was out of contract so I thought why not. :D

Swapped the team with Hayes and Yeading in the Conference and changed the name. Been building my way up to the Premiership. Best player I got in at the start of the Conference was Jack Rodwell and he cost me £18 million.


Just a bit of fun, because I've been getting bored of other seasons.
 
I need some help with coaches. I'm trying recruit 4-5 star coaches for my liverpool team from here: http://fmfreakkid.blogspot.com/2009/11/fm-2010-4-5-stars-coaches.html

but ive tried half of them and nearly everyone rejects the offer, even ones that are unemployed, i also tried isgning pako ayesteran same thing, any tips?

while i'm at it anyone know any decent striker or attacking player for under 3mil?
