World of Tanks Gameplay revealed

Nice game, but it lacks of Britain tanks as jack mentioned, it would be nice if developers gather up and create a game where every nation involved in ww2 are counted for characters, scenarios, weapons, the works.

Let's be honest, British tanks were that bad that it's probably a good thing.

The poor performance of the Churchill nearly caused production to be ceased in favour of the upcoming Cromwell tank; it was saved by the production of the much improved Mk III which appeared in March 1942 and was first used in the Second Battle of El Alamein in October of that year. In this 'second chance' the six Mk III tanks of "KingForce" went into battle in support of the 7th Motor Brigade. Although all were heavily shelled by German anti-tank guns, only one received more than light damage; one tank was said to have been hit up to 80 times.[5]

Granted the better variants didn't appear in the same numbers as the M4 Sherman range, but it was there nonetheless.

True, the Churchill wasnt a bad tank per se. Do you know which German regiment/unit those tanks were up against? Not all German AT guns were the fabled 88mm, a lot of the Wehrmacht in 1942 still had the 37mm AT gun as standard, which yes, would be like throwing rocks at a Churchill tank :p

Black Prince is my favourite Churchill tank!

Gameplay looks fun, seems to be oriented around amusement as well as a modicum of accuracy.

The story of British tank development pre WW2 is one of penny pinching politicians first approving a design then making a few critical cut backs.
It is a sin that we did not produced a decent tank until the Comet but we have'nt done bad since.

More likely to be 50 or 75mm (similar to the PZ MkIII\IV tanks that they were with).

Edit: British engineers invented the tank (landship as they called it back then) and the Russians adapted several 1930s designs, so they can't have been that bad :p

By the good old simple British engineering idea of just smacking a bigger gun on it. :D

Oh the good old 17pdr, how i hold you dear. The shortfalls of british early tanks were down to the american power plant used in them which was woefully underpowered.

Once we got the Meteor engine based off the aircraft Merlin engine we had 2x the power in an understressed engine which could be made from substandard merlin parts. Engine was also put into the American tanks of the time too. British Comet tanks had to be speed limited to make sure the suspension didn't fall to bits.

British Armor

Another game that seems to forget britain existed in ww2....

The release version will also include American tanks that are in development now. In the long-term, we are going to add British, Italian, French and Japanese vehicles. - quoted from the devs' interview.

Guess we gonna see this monsters in the game:

Hate to sound all nerdy here but the Centurion was in prototype phase when the war ended ;)

Right, but if you check out this tech tree for German tanks you'd found some experimental models as well - and all of them are said to be already in the game :)
