New Mobo recommendations for Q9550 setup

Any of the p45 boards mentioned in this thread will be fine, disable onboard sound and your sorted. If you have a decent aftermarket sound card theres no worries.

I ended up getting a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3LR Intel P45 so easy compared to my old Asus board (p5kc) only one pci-e slot, which doesn't bother me but might others who want to crossfire.

That's what I was thinking about getting. Shame there is no second PCI-E slot, as the board is just what I'm looking for in terms of layout (decent amount of space between PCI and PCI-E slot to accomodate ATI 5770 and studio soundcard). I may want to crossfire at some point.

For me best looking for any top end board from Asus or Gigabyte P45 or X48 / even x38 can do some good things :D

I would look for a 4GB matched set of high quality brand name memory personally.

Then you will be more than happy.

Best of luck
