As per title- was wondering if anyone had picked up a Desire on Virgin's mobile network as they have some cracking tariffs available.

Was interested if there was any branding/virgin software on the phone and how you're finding reception?

I just got my Desire yesterday from Virgin. No branding and its not locked either!
I am using my O2 sim card while I am waiting for my PAC code.

I can't comment on coverage as I haven't used the sim card yet

theres an option in adroid somewhere to select network and download settings im guessing yours is on auto and had a little fit.

my vodafone has downloaded internet settings for tmobile before for unknown reasons :/

o2 are good they don't spalsh their branding all over your phone, nor do they lock your phones in most cases, vidaphone and orange and absolutely hor****e when it comes to branding the phones.. They'll put their logo on permanent bootup logos, screensavers etc, etch the logo on the case if they can get away with it, and also put in permanent icons on the display menu too.

ive never had more than a vodafone logo stuck on the bootup screen and the 3 phones ive had from them have all came in unbranded boxes and have been sim free. admittedly 5 or so years ago they did brand them badly though

i used to be with virgin before voda and they where the same , id definetly of stayed with them if they had phones that i wanted but at the time they where a bit behind everyone!

ahh yes andy, last time i owned a vodaphone was around 5 years ago.. Orange were paticularly bad, I remember that they used to lock the themes and used their own firmware versions which were rolled out a lot later than sim free firmwares.

It migt be different for smartphones as they have an option to look the phone like that.
