It is obviously cheaper to book in advance, correct?

I'm looking at the end of June to Amsterdam, which is kind of holiday season. So whats the chances of turning up on the day and the tickets being cheaper? Not much, if not at all?

A mate hasn't really travelled much and he wants to book it last minute style, I've always booked in advance..

Advice required :D

Cheaper to book in advance, but if there are no shows then you may be able to get a cheapish ticket. Also, there could be deals closer to the date, so its a bit of a catch22.

I doubt it would be cheaper to actually go there and buy one though.

the earlier you book it the more chances of actually getting a seat..
just book it.

Ye see your kinda relying on things to go your way if you book last minute, rather have the tickets way in advance tbh.

I mean, £70 return late June/July is alright ent it :p

Peak season will never be cheap, and it certainly won't get cheaper the later you leave it.

KLM is generally quite expensive, although £120 return isn't a bad price tbh.
Is that Manchester - AMS?
Try bmi/bmi baby, etc..

Thought about taking the train? It's high speed from London to Amsterdam via Brussels now. Very quick.

If your prepared to chance it you can get great deals but theres no guarantees - I once managed to fly to the US and back on KLM for £275 on what was normally a £750+ ticket booking only 8 days before the flight :D but other times I've looked for similiar flights and theres been nothing under £1200.

Ooooh hello, got any links that you can just book the train service?

And um, this is from Liverpool as for some reason every airline from Manc-AMS is so expensive.

Manchester - AMS will be extortionate because it's not a very popular route and the only airlines that fly it are probably BA and KLM :p

Regarding the train, Eurostar to Brussels and then if you want high speed to Amsterdam, Thalys.

You can also book it on www.b-rail.be, if you click International.
On the SNCB web site you can choose between the Thalys and the normal service.
If you're under 26 (I think), you qualify for cheaper tickets.
Same with Eurostar, under 26 = youth fare = cheapness.

 ta mate

I'm sure you wouldn't even dream of it, but don't try and smuggle some drugs over the border. Chances are there'll be dogs along the way somewhere.

Oh, and Eurostar is London - Any station in Belgium, which means you can continue on to where ever you want for free.
I highly recommend going to Bruges while you're there.

btw, this might actually be more expensive than flying :p

Haha, mail it to myself from Amsterdam tbh :D

Yea i wanna go Bruges but i doubt all 10 of us will :p
