Hi there, i have just bought a bike with disc brakes (push bike). The front disc brake is incredibly hard to place correctly so the wheel spins freely. I have played around with all the screws n **** on the caliper but nothing is really helping. It is quite hard when i pedal the bike to keep going at speed and my legs are hurting, (i dont know what else it could be apart frmom the front brake) all i want is to ride the bike normally! help would be appreciated, cheers.

Hydraulic or Cable operated?

Sounds cable to me, if it is - are you sure you have aligned front wheel up properly? Also try and loosen the cable a little at the lever and if thats not possible then at the caliper.

The best way to centre the caliper over the disc is:
1 - Loosen the bolts holding the caliper on the frame.
2 - Pull the brake on
3 - tighten the bolts up again.

Then spin the wheel and see if it will spin freely.
If not, you might need to adjust the cable (if you have cable brakes) or let some fluid out (if you have hydraulic brakes)

That sounds worth a try, i will try it in the morning (as it is dark now!) will let u know if this works. Thankyou
