what is the best download website for games

Seriously what's with all your weird threads! Ever thought about contributing to the forums a bit more?

It's advise btw, and steam is your best bet.

Steam's generally the best choice.. I've used EA downloader myself, but wouldnt bet on it to save my life. Best idea with that is to keep the files you download in backup and not download it again. On the other hand, you can download anything, any time with steam :D

and mods don't look kindly on forum spamming ;)

Whatever is the most competitive on price for a game I'm after. I'm not one for 'brand loyalty'.

I've used Steam, Impulse, Gamersgate, D2D etc and never had any probs with any of them...so, as said it's who does the best price if they have the same game. But 70% of my purchases have been boxed retail as they can nearly always outdo DD prices, espescially on new releases. So actually most of my DD purchases have been special/weekend deals. As others have said, that is when you can get some real bargains.

you have started 14 threads on nothing !

take your time to read other people's thread's and stop spamming !

most of them are hardware questions. tbh a large number of my threads are "which bit of kit/program will do this best" because research etc is long and annoying if you're not already heavily into it asking a collection of HW enthusiasts is much quicker.

ot

steam and impluse are the two i use.

I prefer Steam or Impulse as they handle the downloading via a custom interface which makes it very easy to install/uninstall games as the mood takes me.

Still if the price is somewhat lower on another online downloadable games retailer (D2D, GOG, etc) I'll use those instead.

I only use Steam for Valve games. I don't want to buy Steam exclusive retail games - a game relying on a third party store to play? No.

GOG is my favourite

D2D and Gamersgate tie for second place (though GG don't have such good deals, apart from their blue coins bonuses for preorders)

Steam comes in third

Impulse is last for me. The majority of their games are only available in the US, and their archiving system is inferior. Your backup only works on your current computer install...if you're backing up for a reinstall, you have to redownload (unless you chose archive and install when downloading...THEN it makes a proper backup)
