***Official Wrath of the Lich King Thread***(Contains spoilers)***

I bought the steed, it has its pros and cons but to those banging on about paying real money they need to look at themselves and realise they pay a monthly fee to play a bunch of pixels themselves.

Of course we realise that, these games usually have one of two pricing structures though, monthly sub or free to play with items to buy. Seems a bit greedy given the amount of cash they rake in is all. With first day sales of the mount bringing in something like £2.5 million there are clearly many people who dont mind paying again though.

Probably gonna renew my sub today..Finish grinding out my Thunderfury, May as well try as much as I can before Catacylsm as the quests may be removed, Already got the Elementium, The thing off Raggy and Garrs binding, Just Geddon to go..

I started playing again 2 weeks ago, causually doing my JC daily (although to be fair I do check the time-losts fp taking the long route) I found and killed him ;)

Its my opinion and that won't change, but you're free to disagree ;)

My post wasn't serious, I was taking the **** out of myself for being sad enough to fly round the same route for 5 weeks, looking for a bunch of pixels.

£17 - the mind absolutely boggles why people would spend money on that - it would have been cheaper to get 50,000 gold of a Korean gold farmer and just use that. If I could find the BMW picture of the BMW badge in a pile of poo I'd post that as I feel it would make sense.

Why pay 8.99 per month for a game when you could just play Guildwars for free?

Why pay £12 for a pizza from dominos when you could just get one from asda for £2.99

Why buy a Jaguar/Mercedes/Bentley when you could get a Ford Sierra

blah blah blah blah blah

I think the more apt thing is:

Why buy something when you can get the same items for free by actually playing the game? All it is, when you cut out the bull, is the same steed speeds already in the game but different pixels.

Where as in your examples they are comparably different quality - and if you're paying £12 for a pizza then it must be a huge blooming pizza.

A large Cheese and Tomato (basic) is £11.99.

People may choose to pay £17 (a Large "Big Smoky" pizza and a drink) because they look awesome. The same reason people may pay whatever price for the Pets that do NOTHING, because the like it.

Christ, people invest months and months into this game, why is £17 such a big deal? It's an aesthetic choice, just like a Name Change, Race Change or Faction Change. They're all the same price.

The "quality" you mention is subjective, because the quality is referring to aesthetics.

You might say, then, why add the Porsche "Sport Interior" for £1700 that changes the trim, puts some metallic paint on the dashbooard and changes the shape of the handbrake lever? Well, people do. They're not forced to do it. To some people, the price is worth paying.

I agree, I bought one and I probably wont even use it but to me I invest large amounts of time into WoW instead of going out down the pub and spending £60 in one night. I can think of worse investments, Superpoke Pets springs to mind on Facebook. My god the money that changes hands on there through Paypal (my girlfriend plays but hasn't resorted to that yet luckily). Each to their own :)

The mount is quite ugly really but its gonna be a godsend having a mount that can walk or fly on one button for all characters on the account.

50k for £17??

Proof?

Indeed, you'd be lucky to get 10k for that.

Anyway, I can understand paying money for in-game items that are cool (I just bought Lil' Kel'thuzad) but to pay money for a mount that looks like something out of Robot Unicorn Attack?
Plus buying mounts for alts is hardly expensive, is it? Even the epic flier only costs 100g.

10k for £36 with 4 free Crusader Orbs.

Sat quite happily in Zul'Gurub killing the tiger boss, the goldseller insisted on telling me all about it after I ignored the initial "Hi" "How r u today?" speech :D

Does have me mildly curious how it compares to other servers economy.

If anyone is looking for a raiding guild that has been around since Vanilla we have a couple of raiding spots at the moment.

We have cleared ICC 10 and are working on Hard modes and 25man progress we have LK, Sindragosa and Blood Queen left. BQ Should be down next wk, last 2 wks we have had 22/23 players and have just missed out due to enrage timer.

Send me mail in trust if anyone is interested, we are on Magtheridon EU on Horde side.

Cant you like sell something really crap for like 2000g on the cross faction AH using your poor toon, and then buy it with your rich toon?
