I have been looking at this case it looks so nice but is missing some intake, i heard that the fan in the middle in the only intake and it draws it from the bottom of the case.

Has ne one got pictures of the bottom of the case because i would like to mod a fan onto the bottom sucking in air and blowing it up

You can always just take out and remount the fans the other way?

I think it's only thin metal, as long as you mount the fan on the inside you should be alright :p

I use the bottom as an intake, pushing air up through the case with 3 Apache Blacks as an exhaust on the top of the case.

I've also got a Corsair H50 Rad on the rear which is using another Apache Black as an intake fan.

So air goes in through the bottom and the rear, and leaves through the top.

CPU is at 28c and case is at 35c - just playing FM2010 - so idle temps pretty much.

Without the top fans my two 5870's would hit the high 80's after playing Just Cause 2 for 3 or 4 hours... I haven't had a chance to test out their temps since I've added the fans.

i use the same sort of configuration as nikebee but with different fans, i have a 140mm xigmatek at the bottom as intake and a H-50 at the back as intake and 3 xigmatek fans at the top as exhaust and my temps are totally fine. CPU = 30c and 2 4870's with a fan profile are around 55c each idle.

I replaced all the stock fans in my 800D (at a cost of around £70 so not ideal). The 3 x sharkoon 2000RPM silent eagles in the top shift a lot of air and are pretty quiet. I got 3 1500 RPM 140mm Sharkoon fans too - the system is pretty cool. Hooked them all up to a Zalman fan controller - no problem with airflow I can find. CPU is idling around 30C

Gonna buy one of these in next 2 weeks when i sell my antec 1200.

I really ummed and erred between my 800D and a 1200. It really is a thing of beauty and Im absolutely delighted with my decision. Be prepared to pay for extra fans though if you want superior air cooling.

yeah im gonna go for custom water cooling, otherwise there is no point for me coming from an antec 1200 as its probably the best air cooled case on the market.

What have people used for the bottom fan? Just kept the stock one?

Im thinking of getting this, using my current h50 intaking from the back with silent typhoon 1800, then 3 apache blacks exhausting out the top.

What other fans will i need? Does the HD bay one need to be there? What psu extention cables am i likely to need?

Also, are the apache blacks comparable to the silent eagles?

thanks
