If the weather is good, chill out in one of the parks?

Also, there's plenty of guided walks around London that are very cheap.

Not really bad wording maybe, what I mean is London is no more expensive to eat out, drink, visit than the south west. Which is condesered to be cheaper by most.

Where abouts in london do you live? You have to make an effort to find cheap places, not just avoid expensive places.. That said paying £4 for a pint is pretty much standard

Live in Bristol, have no problem finding cheap places to eat and drink, had a great night out on fullham road and the prices were cheaper than Bristol. been there a fair few times for long weekends and it's the same all the time. Avoid the expensive areas and it is not expensive. If you start living there and take into account rent and transport that's a different matter.

I had a great mooch with the gf and did Camden, walked down to the strand and along to Trafalgar square and over embankment bridge and all along the southbank. Was looking at the eye but it wasn't great weather for it. Then headed on the tube to Harrods and spent ages mooching around in there and then Harvey Nic's champagne bar! Thoroughly enjoyable walk around London as she had never visited and great free times!

Museums, museums and museums. :p

Most are free and normally pretty good fun (yes really).

Also Harrods is good for a look round.

Where in fulham did you go?

Both of the Tate galleries have their permanent collections on display for free. Stop by the Modern at sunset for a cracking view of St. Paul's and the rest of the London skyline.

Take her up the........................:D

Loads to do but I can't think of that much off the top of my head. FYI get on teh TFL website and look ahead to see when the engineering works are, lots of closures at the weekends.

- Camden etc - Cool, funky, grungy, and also VERY busy and full of stupid tourists. Proud galleries is a must for a drink, quality place.
- Canary wharf is a cheap place to look around and quiet at weekends, although watch out as the Jubilee line is closed a lot during weekends.
- Soho - For teh gay :D:D:D
- Covent Garden - for the generic tourist stuff.
- Park Lane/St James etc etc for Buckingham Palace, posh cars, yadda yadda.
- Regents/Oxford street - You can guess thr rest
- South Bank - Cool place around waterloo for walks, IMAX, more walks, the eye etc.

Can't think much for the cool and off the beaten track places. Peeps help the poor man :p
