Tiger Woods - PGA Tour Online

tbh I am still enjoying playing for free for now. Not causing me any great dramas and there are at least 2 open courses and 3-4 open tournaments daily.

I agree though that something would appear to be amiss with some of the scores, although I would guess that some of it could be down to the fact that some players have been on the beta from word go, so will have very high attributes, and as such can drive 350-400yds for fun, and probably put their approach shots to within a foot or 2 every time, making putting childs play really.

I've just completed TPC Sawgrass for the 1st time today in the daily pro tournament and shot -16, made up of 16 birdies and 2 pars, and I am currently only level 18 Semi Pro and have only upgraded my swing trainer to level 2, and some to level 3.

What I found to be the best upgrade for me is the putt previews. I currently have 10, and they are essential if you want to shoot birdies and eagles when you are anything more than 6-8ft from the cup.

Also essential is a driver upgrade and a ball upgrade, equates to 40-50yds every tee shot, which has made a huge difference to the game for me.

The amount of cheating that must go on doesn't make the game worthwhile to pay to play in order to try and win points in tournaments. When you see scores of -23 on tournaments that have strong wind, no aiming, no gridlines on greens and no putt previews you know something is going on!

I haven't played since the beta finished, to be honest I hadn't played much since the Pro shop came along and messed up all the attributes that I had worked for.

Shame really as it was a good game at one point.

Good shout.

I tried playing after the shop update and was like "WTF".

Dont get me wrong, I dont mind working my way up again but I just dont "get it" anymore.

I dont get the crazy scores either, but they have been there since day one.

I think it was crap to be honest. Graphically its the same as the rest shambolic and ugly. Gameplay is the same very easy and nothing to it.

Now just one free tournament. Oh well, will need to find something else to play during afternoon coffee time.

edit: Now no free tournaments today. Fun while it lasted.

Found this only a few days ago. It's a good bit of fun and as far as I can see there are still two free tournaments daily. I see some of the earlier posts are talking about upgrading equipment even when you play for free. Can anyone comfirm that this is not possible anymore?

Also on the site they say I can play "put for dough" for free, but again it looks to me like only members can do this.

Anyone paying for this game? Is this worth it?

Have started playing again recently and am now a full member.

I encourage those who have not yet tried to give it a try and those who did and stopped to come back.

Also, the pricing structure is cheaper now.

£3.99 a month or £27 (ish, after $ conversion) for a year.

Members receive unlimited play and access to tournaments.

Easily worth the £3.99 a month in my opinion.

finaly signed up earlier this month (played the beta when it came out)
and its surprisingly good.
I cant help but wish there was a proper retail none browser version available but it is what it is and does it rather well.

the main reason i got it was i work nights as a security guard so i can have a dabble when its quiet and no one is about lol.

it's running fairly smooth and pretty on max settings on my 15" laptop.
specs: i3-2310m / 4 gigs ram and built in HD3000 intel graphics.

people with super computers here, does the game look better than the xbox360 / ps3 ?

i've learnt that purchasing better clubs can give your more forgiveness when making swing errors resulting in the ball not dissapearing into to much trouble.

many players still about ?
