Re-making Classic games with high res graphics..

Oh no, no I agree. Excellent games to remake... Dark Forces 1, Doom 1 and 2 as well... I'm sure lots of you have ideas on games that'll make fantastic remakes with HD graphics.....

Did Doom 3 Classic Doom mod pass you by (as it did me)? :) Worth it for the music alone.

didn't know about that...... Although doesnt Doom 3 not run with Windows 7? I've got Doom 3 kicking about on DVD somewhere..... Scared the life out of me whilst playing it......

And I forgot about the resident evil remake on GC. Although I don't own a GC, girlfriends got a Wii (which never gets used, man that machine and all its gimmicks are a waste of money, soon wore off)... You can play some GC games on the Wii, you just a need a GC controller right?

Games that I've played and thought could use a modern update.

Thief 1 & 2
Deus Ex
Vampires The Masquerade: Bloodlines (more bug fixes required than gfx updates).
Half Life/Opposing Force/Blue Shift

System Shock 2 has already been updated under the name BioShock.

And a GC memory card.

I don't think you guys are going back far enough - lets update manic miner - I lost hours of my life, and spent so many bus rides to school trying to knock out the homework I should have done, all because of that game

If you don't want to go back that far - defender - such a classic, I can remember stealing every 10p out my parents copper jar to play that, along with my dinner money and any other cash source I had. :D

I know Im showing my age, but the mature members on the forum will know exactly what Im going on about :p

Have you tried the community updates? I played this about a year after release and experienced no problems with patches.

I would love another Hidden and Dangerous game although II still looks pretty good. I'd also say Mafia but the cinematic feel of the game still holds it well and the second one is out in the summer too!

Road Rash. Was sent this a few days ago:

The need to keep it with the original style FMV and music though.

Full Throttle would be great too but I think the original is just spot on tbh. I love the old point and click puzzle type games.

That's a trip down memory lane! Defender was awesome on my Amstrad CPC464! :D Manic Miner was great but very strange.
Maybe the Roland series as well, Roland in the caves, Roland goes digging etc...!

OMG... Roland on the ropes... Now this is really showing our ages..!!:D

X-wing and/or Tie fighter would be amazing! Massively multiplayer squadrons of tie fighters vs x wings, real radio chatter, assulting large ships, etc etc would be immense. Why hasn't it been done?? Is there anything even similar - big multiplayer space battling? It really has to be star wars though.

I had a CPC, Spectrum and a C64, later an Amiga ;) Loved these games!

I'd like to see some of these re-done:

Last Ninja/Last Ninja 2
Head over Heels
Spellbound
The Dizzy games <3
Last Duel
Spy Hunter
Chase HQ
Midnight Resistance
Rastan
Jack the Nipper 2
Syndicate
Chaos Engine
R-Type

And a bit later than that, I'd like to see the Zelda games up to Ocarina of time all remade with high res graphics. :) Must have completed Link to the Past about 5 times on emulator now!

Yeah I'd love a Tie Fighter re-make, maybe FF7/8 and definitely Jedi Knight Academy/Outcast games :p

I completely forgot about Dizzy!!! That would be brilliant :D

Sadly I never had an amiga or atari, I had to live with my 15min tape deck load times while my mates had floppy disks :(

Loading from tape has a bit of a nostalgic charm about it now, although at the time, I remember putting heavy things on the tape deck of the C64 to try and fix loading problems... :D

I had a 64K RAM pack so I got speech with games like Operation Wolf and Robocop! :) My CPC is still in perfect working order... I can't bring myself to throw it away :)
