Guru (from Gangstarr) in a coma.

Maybe not one of the greatest lyricists or best emcees, but a totally unique artist and one half of one of the most influential groups in Hip-Hop.

Not sure I like all the politicking in that letter, really unnecessary on Solar's part.

RIP Guru. I don't listen to that much Gang Starr but "Above The Clouds" with Inspectah Deck is one of my most listened to tracks :(

Yeah thats pretty horrendous, literally, whats the point in carrying on a beef and tainting an iconic group that worked for best part of 20 years.
 
There was nothing more than a falling out, no serious beef. What perpetuated it was Solar having control over Guru's affairs, to the point of having power of attorney (or something along those lines) when his health problems flared up. Not only did he prevent people like Premo getting in contact and visiting him in hospital, he went as far as him not allowing Guru's own family to see him.

No one actually believes Guru wrote that letter, he was apparently in a coma for the last 2 months of his life, and the language used just doesn't sound right. All that together puts Solar in a pretty bad light, no one has a good word to say about him, and it's a pretty shameful state of affairs when we should be celebrating Guru and Gangstarr's legacy.
