OH MY WORD! Deus EX complete on Steam £3!!!

just spotted this!

complete no brainer really, only played a bit of the first one a long time ago but these games seem to have a huge following!
 
Just beat me to it.

Is it worth paying £3 for the lot or just £1.50 for Deus Ex (which is a no-brainer)?

Let's just pretend the £1.50 is important. :D

Will it work on Win7 64?
 
I would still spend the £30+ you have to on new releases these days on Deus Ex today, it's an amazing game. :D
 
it's truly a classic game, and one of the best i've ever played

it has depth on a par with Half Life and is a truly excellent game

i think there is an updated texture pack(s) available to improve the graphics

the 2nd one isn't worth the effort IMO - it was a wasted opportunity that can no way live up to it's predecessor
 
Well considering the third one will be out soon, might aswell buy it I suppose! I'm intrigued by it and shall have to break the bank for the whopping total of £3.

hmm..it didnt live up to the first one, no..not by any means.. but I would still say it's worth playing..just..don't expect the same level of awesome as before..


Also, would be nice to know who visits this thread and decides to reinstall the game (assuming they own it) :p go ooooooooon..
 
Got Deus Ex 2 in the end, finally own a copy rather than borrowing it :D

Fair enough, but £1.50 for one of the best games ever made?..:D Don't let the second one put you off..
 
What i would like, is for someone who has done it, to put up step by step instructions into how to find, install and make the updated GFX and HIres or superres texture packs work with the steam version of the game.

I fancy replaying it again, but would like to try with updated GFX, and googling has left me rather confused as to what actually exists out there and what doesn't.

Slightly incorrect.

Deus Ex 1 is one of the best games ever made, and pretty much the only futuristic FPS / RPG type game that I have ever enjoyed so immensely.

Deus Ex 2 was absolute crap. I already have them both, the second one was a complete failure to just about everyone that enjoyed the first.
 
high Res texture pack works with the Steam version too....just need to do the below, i just did it and worked a treat :) - google saves the day again :p

Instructions to update steam edition

Try locating these two files:

DeusEx.ini
HDTP.ini

Then find these lines in HDTP.ini:

Paths=..\HDTP\Textures\*.utx



And copy them to the top of the "Paths=" list in DeusEx.ini. Then run the game
