Just purchased an i5 750 Lynnfield

Wow nice upgrade from a 2.6 Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5300

Finally went for the below setup, i have currently overclocked the i5 to 3.7 GHz. After a good session on Bad Company 2 the max temp is 45c which i am more than happy with at the moment.

Nice setup although I'd upgrade that graphics card, bottleneck for sure with that rig. Also, I find that BFBC2 is smooth as silk with a dual core, Lowrider. Are you having problems with it?

i5 @ 3.7GHz here too. Very good chips. Few programs see significant benefits from hyperthreading to justify the 50% price increase.

4 cores is def currently the sweet spot.

Glab your happy with your upgrade, im planning going from an E6600 to an i5 750 shortly, so hoping for a big boost.

What cooling are you using?

What card would you recommend with a budget approx £150 to £200.

Yes I'd also go with a 5770. I've got a 5850 myself and it's fantastic, should last a good few years as well. :)

The 9800GT of yours is not a bad card by any means but I think with your quad core and that ram you'd probably want something a bit more fitting.

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler and Xilence XPF120R Red Wing 120mm Quiet Fan on the case.

I would like to upgrade to water cooling but i think the graphics upgrade is a higher priority.

Or even check out a 5770 crossfire :D

Another option from a 5850 and runs pretty sweetly too. Depends how much you can pick them up for though.
