GTA: Episodes from Liberty City

Ahhh, see.....you didn't mention TLAD in post number 217. I haven't played it yet, just finished TBOGT where there is hardly a need to use two wheels. ;)

I know this thread was started a while ago now but I didn't even know the DLC's had finally come to PC, that's amazing going to download and play them over the next few days, absolutely loved GTA IV and was a bit miffed at the graphics of TBOGT on the Xbox so this will be awesome!

Edit: Just purchased, 16GB damn!

Having a huge problem with the camera angle. I use the far out chase cam - ie so you can see the bike. But its angled so low that often your character blocks your view of the road ahead. If I use the analog stick to raise the view up a tad its perfect but of course the second you let go its back to being ridiculous.

I don't remember it being like this in GTAIV... what gives?
Agree. I use Mouse + KB so I just flick the mouse around to perfect the view.

I thought this was the only way. How do you lock the camera behind the car so you dont need to move the mouse?
Whenever I turn the view stays the same so i end up looking at the side of the car and smashing into something

has anybody picked this up on the highstreeet? i'm just wondering what the rip-off merchants are charging? if it's the same price as steam, i'd rather buy the DVD.

I downloaded the "retail" GFWL version from Metaboli for £17. Simply because I don't have Steam installed and could not be bovvered going into town to grab it off the shelf as I'm a lazy bast. :)

I "think" that the well known high street game retailer that begins with "G" were flogging it in store at £24.99.

wouldn't surprise me. i suppose i should just go and check for myself. it's only a 10 minute walk into town. :p

i wouldn't mind paying the 19.99 that steam charge but i'm not paying any more. :)

i know it can be had for 15 sheets ordering online but i've gone all weekend without it due to skintness. i really want to be playing it this evening. :o

EDIT: just popped out and got it for 19.99 from a major music store chain.

Just finished the Lost Brothers Campaign and it felt really short  Was enjoying it so much forgot how short it was! Also was hoping Ashley would sort her life out and get together with the main character :/

how can that be a spoiler. i think it's obvious from their first scene together, he'll never be interested.

and i've just finished TLAD. i'm pretty disappointed overall. first of all it runs slower than gta4 at the same settings. i was hoping for improvements. secondly, the story was far too predictable. it's obvious who you were up against from the very first scenes. and some of the AI was just terrible. i hope TBOGT is better. :o

Starting to get bored of the helicopter based missions on TBoGT now :( seems like almost all missions I have left involve flying one and the fps is horrendous.

Loving the game tho, the comedy of gay tony keeps me interested :)

Wondering whether to get GTA4 or not now as I missed out before, not sure I'd stay interested for long tho.

I have stopped crashing now by installing it on windows xp :) also running on high textures as it still gives 35fps on bench.

I haven't finished TBoGT yet but a love how some of the characters that had smaller parts in GTAIV have bigger parts in this, makes the whole world feel more complete.

Managed to get my performance back up to being smooth, sadly the only way I can do it is to turn off Shadows completely :( I turned them off more to stop the horrible flickering which only happened on tree shadows than anything else, hopefully it will get patched again at some point.

took me a lot of work to get gta 4 looking decent and running nicley, but now that it is can i say how terrible it makes my xbox version look, i even booted the console up to compare and its a muddy jittering mess, can see why the req specs are the way they are!

Guys what is the multiplayer like? I've been playing the single player "the lost", and have been impressed at what my pc can handle.

I was playing the first mission from the bent politician to take out his uncle landing in a helicopter and even though I kept getting taken out I even found it amusing to die. The AI feels like I've played them before. I completed the mission after about 10 attempts. However I didn't think of attempting to steal the heli which may have been fun.

I've been "previewing" it in single player but I'm going to order it from a jersey based company.

Personally I believe having a multiplayer aspect to games really gives the game maker more opportunity for getting compensation for their product; especially at a time when they seen consoles as a more profitable market.

if you could "preview" the multiplayer would you still buy the product though? or are you saying this just because you know you cant pirate and access this feature? if you enjoy the single player then pay for the product regardless

Personally I don't like to play single player games, so I'm not likely to want to buy single player games as I would not use them half as much as an online game; its just a co-incidence that multiplayer games are harder to pirate.

Fact is the multiplayer aspect of gta4 is the single reason which influenced me to buy it.

Where are the saved game files?
