iPad Reboxing vid

he made some very valid point's and they are all true.

it's just a gimmick im my eye's and a expensive one at that.

but us boy's like our toy's.
 
I have my iPad and it all depends on use.

If you sit on an evening making spreadsheets, presentations etc then it is not for you.

If like me you use your main computer for all that and on an evening you sit with the missus while she watches tv and you browse the web/YouTube/casual game etc then the iPad is wonderful.

I had a hp net book and it was very slow to start up and use. Since using the iPad last night it more than fits the bill for me.

I also needed a device to show clients my keynote presentations. I never bothered with the net book cos by the time it had warmed up the client would be bored silly. I can be showing the client my presentations on the iPad in less than ten seconds and it looks good.

Anyway my two penneth.
 
I always saw it as a good carrier for showing people my photography and retouching work at unannounced interviews or on shoots. Though that was more for the tablet form factor than anything else. As it looks like everyone will be bringing out ones that suffer from fewer of the iPads shortcomings, I'l be looking into those instead.
 
It's not supposed to replace the iPhone or a laptop, it goes between it.

I'd buy one for just leaving around the house for when I need to google something quickly or when im lying in bed chatting on MSN and don't want to use my laptop.

There are uses for it, it's just a question of if the money spent on one is worth it. At the moment I don't have enough free cash to spend on one of these but one day after a few revisions and improvements i'll consider getting one..

I think you missed the point of the video. There is no space in between the iPhone and a laptop. Well, at least this guy thinks so. To be fair with the advent of netbooks I would be inclined to agree with him. But this argument has been done to death, so we'll leave it there!

Fair points :p I didn't see the humour in it either tbh. Obviously being dense early in the morning :o
 
I would pick one up if it supported flash. Without it I still need to have another machine available if I need to use a website that uses it which sort of makes it pointless. If it supported flash you could play flash games, go to video sites and basically that's all I use the web for. Without flash I can't go to any sites that have streaming video such as gamespot meaning if I want to check out video reviews I would have to boot up my laptop so I may as well just use the laptop in the first place and use the £500 on something else that works.

Buying an iPad is like buying a car that can only be used on motorways.
 
I had a video of someone using the iPad dash mounted in the car for sat nav, looked so funny as its HUGE.

indeed its my one complaint about the touch is you can't visit scores of sites.
 
What sites do you guys use which use flash as the main delivery method of information i.e. without flash the site paralysed (bad design)?

I know of a few good "brochure ware" sites, ad agencies etc but I would like to find out some others maybe in your top 10 daily visited etc
 
the crazy thing about the ipad is its one of those things you would go to the mac store especially just to play with... but thats it. You dont want / need one. You just want to play with it and say you have played with it for bragging rights.

Maybe apple realise all this and are just taking money from people as an enjoyable side affect to getting more people in to their mac stores? :)
