Hey all, I got this motherboard (from OCUK), it arrived today and I had a friend help me build it. Installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Everything seems to be working, apart from the on board LAN.

Checked that it's enabled in the BIOS, installed the drivers from the disk that came with the motherboard - no luck. Installed the latest drivers from the Realtek website - still no luck.

Don't think it's the port that's dodgy, it's lighting up when the cable is plugged in, and the light on router for it is green too (most of the time; sometimes it goes red)

Any ideas what I can try? Only thing I haven't done is update the BIOS to the newest. (Got F3 installed, newest is F5). Not sure how I'd do that though, and I don't want to break the motherboard!

Thanks in advance for any help. Had been really excited about it, but with it not working it's ruined it a bit at the moment.

I had the same problem when i fitted a Gigabyte H-55 board in my rig.....
I tried all of the drivers available / any combination of switching router/lan port/cable modem off/on. Nothing worked....then i logged into my router and did a reset via the Netgear menu and it started up straight away.
NOTE: Just resetting via the reset button had no effect.
Very strange, but hasn't missed a beat since.

dmsims, checked all them. Diagnostics - everything passed, Cable - everything is normal (2m for Length, Link Speed is set to 100), Statistics - throughputs are at 0, no errors on send or receive.

Tried restarting router as you suggested, Bito, still no joy.

Chicken....that was logging into the router and then reset to default ??
Don't know what else to suggest, unless it is a duff port.

Are you using a router prior to modem?
Have you tried connecting direct to modem without the router if so ?

Got it working. Had to add the MAC address to router settings. Didn't have to add it for old PC, only ever had to do it for wireless connections.

I feel a bit stupid now - rather that than a faulty mobo though!

Thanks for all your help everyone, really appreciate it.
