I'm looking to get a new monitor next month, looking at the specs of both the monitors, they look well....the same?

What are the main differences between them??

Cheers for any help!
Arran

So really the only difference is 1 has a dvi slot and 1 has a hdmi?
Using it for PC use and no console really wont make the slightest bit of difference in pic quality between, them will it?

That was my thought...

I'm quite excited by the thought of a new monitor, been using this Viewsonic VX922 for too long now...hated it from the start!!!

i had that dilema earlier this week.

Brought the G2420HDBL, the only difference i could really see was the HDMI over DVI input, but then found out picture quality is same, the HDMI carries sound, and i have a decent set of speakers, so G2420HDBL all the way.

Had this beauty for a day now, and ive not regretted it.

I guess only useful if connecting xbox or freeview box to monitor and using the VGA for pc...pff got a tv for that anyway :p

The monitor colour fairy consistent? At the top is same brightness and colour than the rest of the screen (try looking at different points) on a same colour background.

Reason I ask is because the monitor I have now is becoming very noticeable and is begining to annoy me!

It's a TN panel, so there will be a slight difference in shade for a given colour at the top vs. bottom of the screen. From what people have said it is at the level expected of a TN panel - I realise some are particularly bad and this effect as very noticeable. What is your current monitor?

ive not noticed any difference with colours from top to bottom personally, and ive had a look for it being as u mentioned it. Colour seems ok, but then i dont normally look for this sort of thing. now on my thrid night with this, still enjoying it.

Fujitsu-Siemens L22W-5, must be going wrong (back light or something?) because I never noticed it _this_ bad before...even on windows desktop it noticeable.

Thanks Persecuter :)

I'd say this: http://www.strathycruise.com/pics/vignette.jpg is better then the monitor I got now by quite a noticeable difference...would post pic but when I do it comes out fuzzy and you can't really see it.
