***Gigabyte H55/H57 motherboard discussion***

Just noticed that an F7 BIOS is now available for H55M-UD2H, as I am running the removed F5m beta I might give it a go.

I'm confused at the boards prices, 2 more outputs + RAID, and £40+ more?

Is it that only H57 support SLi/Xfire?

How did the F7 bios update workout?

It doesn't seem much different from the F5m I was running before, my 4ghz oc seems to work the same, I need about the same extra Vcore to make 4.2 as before.

NB I still have 3.87GB of RAM available - so no change there.

There is a newer bios out now, might be worth giving it a go to see what happens.

I've sold my i3 + H55 now so can't test sorry. (nothing wrong with it BTW, just fancied something new to play with).

I bought the system as a pre overclocked bundle from OCUK, updating the bios would make me lose the OC settings right? :(

Does anyone know if the F9d or F8 version of the bios can disable the reserved memory for the IGP?

Yeah it would do, but if you email OcUK / ring them I'm sure they will be able to tell you the new settings. They probably use the latest BIOS on the bundles they sell.

I haven't updated mine so I don't know if it sorts out the memory problem. Still need to set up my PC because I'm back in Uni now, so I'll do it as soon as I've done that. :)

Well I have the latest stable version which is F8, there's a F9d beta, but I don't want to lose my OC settings to find that I cannot disable the IGP.

Hi.

I recently purchased this mobo with i3 but having some problems with the integrated graphics.

Initially I used Nvidia 8500 graphics but the computer was very unstable kept crashing with blue screen because of driver problems (or it could be dieing). I took out the 8500 and plugged the monitor to the integrated graphics, but it takes ages to print the list of devices in the BIOS screen and when it moves to the next screen (before the windows 7 logo) it gets stuck in blank screen with a flashing underscore.

The firmware of the mobo is F1 and I tried setting the BIOS to default and cleared the CMOS by removing the battery for 1 minute but it doesn't seem to help.

Did I miss anything out?

thanks.

F1 BIOS is very old, my release day shipped board came with F4 on it!

I'd suggest updating to the latest stable BIOS and seeing if that helps at all.

I ran the integrated GPU on F4 no problem.

Gahhh I think either my motherboard is knackered.

Trying to boot up and it just stalls on...

IDE Channel 1 Master : .

Any of you guys actually using or tried the IGP? I#m finding its fine for some games but glitches like buggery with Counter Strike Source. Want to check its not me!

Has anyone over here cracked the 4GB memory "usable" riddle with Windows and the GA-H55M-UD2H? Like everyone else, with onboard graphics or not, it's always less for me.

There's another thread about it below. Midway through, you'll see a screenshot from Gigabyte that apparently proves that it is possible to get 4GB usable, but as of now anyway, they're keeping it a tightly-guarded secret.

AFAIK it's still never been fixed (or even acknowledged by Giga), i've never received a reply to any of the e-mails I sent them concerning the issue at the time.

I no longer own my i3 setup, but a couple of my friends who bought identical bundles all still have the same problem.

Apart from one, who upgraded to 8GB, and by doing so the Hardware Reserved memory vanished and he has the full 8GB available.

I've just updated mine to F10 and it now has 137MB reserved.

I've posted on the Gigabyte forums.

Sorry about the pictures in the OP by the had, had a clear out on my hosting and basically deleted everything on there.
