Was just wondering what the best stuff to clean my car seats.

I think its coke thats been spilled on the drivers seat, its a red interior 'Type R'

Thanks

Rent a steam cleaner, worked well for me.

I think that is the best thing you can do i have a few stains on my seats from previous owner (oo err) and tried getting rid of it a few different products which didnt work. Looked on a few detailing forums and they were all mentioning steam cleaners.

Might be an idea if some of your mates need it doing as well to hire it out and all chip in for the day to clean your cars out.

If you go to B&Q they have carpet shampoo machines in there for hire for £20 a day, they have an attachment for furniture too. Worked a treat on my car! Only thing is you'll need to air the car a tad for the rest of the day, as it'll be a touch damp afterward.

Yh my car did smell like a wet dog for the next few days :p

You need to air it and fully dry it. If you enclose it and it just ends up smelling like a wet dog, then all that dank water has just dried into the fabric and the carpets. Dry it as quickly as possible.

I'd be removing the seats from the car, too - both easier to wash, and let them dry.

Most seats will come out with just 4 bolts, and maybe a couple of electrical connectors.

That is OTT, just pick a sunny day and leave all the windows slightly open for a few hours after you have done it.

My white seats went a mucky brown colour after getting them dirty followed by getting them wet several times in succession during the snow.

My £40 Vax wet vac brought them up like new.

Don't waste your money on bottled upholstery cleaning bits, didn't help me at all. The Clio has a tendency to leak through the sunroof when it rains, leaving nasty stains on the front seats. Might try that steam cleaner idea, I know someone who might lend me theirs.

Slightly OT, anyone elses Clio (mines 2003) leak through the sunroof? Seems to be dripping through the low point on the headliner rather than directly from it though....
