You weren't informed by the arresting officer as to why you were being arrested ?

While in custody, you weren't there while the arresting officer gave his circumstances of arrest to the custody sergeant ?

You asked for someone to be informed that you were arrested and you say it wasn't done ?

I find that difficult to take onboard.
 
I'm sorry but I think there is some serious elaboration going on in this story.
If you were arrested then you would have been "arrested on suspicion of....."
You aren't just "arrested".

As for getting your stuff back - you could be looking at anything up to a year.
It all depends on how long the case runs for and what kind of evidence they are seeking.

It sounds like your upset - having been in trouble with the police once in my life that involved me getting arrested I know how you must have felt at the time and how you still feel now.
However I'm going to assume that the experience has either "clouded your memory" or caused the slight elaboration.
You would have been arrested for something...not just "arrested".

I was told the charge but not what it was in relation to.

Once again I was told the charge but no details. They were friendly enough but told me it will all be explained by the officers who were dealing with my case and I didn't meet them until the interview at around 8pm.

That's correct. I couldn't remember my mother's mobile or work number (and they had already confiscated my phone) but I do know my brother's mobile number and I gave that to them. I also gave them his address and they said if they can't get hold of him they'll send someone around. When I spoke to him after I was released he didn't know of my arrest.

Okay, the charge was fraud. That is all I'm going to say. I've now decided that even if the police come across this thread I don't think it will matter.

So in summary:

- I was told it was fraud but nothing more.
- Evidence was only found at ONE of my colleagues addresses
- I had nothing to do with it and this is backed up my a lack of evidence
- The rest of us were arrested probably because we are good friends and seen together around the building (lunch, coffee breaks and occasionally work :D )
- The officers were actually friendly and polite, probably because I am the same way. My only gripe is the lack of information and cleanliness of the cell.

While I was lying in the cell I wasn't really worried because I knew that I've done nothing wrong even though I was going a bit crazy trying to think of what it could possibly be. I was pretty relaxed when I went to the interview probably because I was so tired and my solicitor had told me that no evidence had been found.

The arrest itself is not my real complaint. One day at the police station is nothing really. It's the fact that my computers and phone have gone and I'm suspended from work while they investigate and all this is based on is one person incorrectly pointing the finger at me.
 
Have you been charged with anything as in have you been cautioned, charged with a specific offence and given a court date ?

Alteratively, have you been released on police bail to reattend the station at a later date while enquiries are ongoing ?
 
did they even have any evidence to link u to this so called fraud? Or just that ur friends with the main suspect? If no evidence has been found then u should get ur stuff back and be reinstated at work. Not good for ur reputation being suspeneded from work and being innocent.

No evidence at all. You would think it should be dropped but no - my name will be dragged though the mud probably until September.
 
prey to god no one ever looked at any porn, cos if any of those girls or boys look under age (even remotely) you are going on a one way trip to a world of hurt..

I'm getting paid for the time being but I doubt it will be until September. I haven't spoken to my HR rep so I just have to wait.

I'm not really concerned about the value of the computer, it's all my data. My CV is on there so if I have to look for a new job I'm going to have to create it from scratch and I don't have any contact details for my references and I can't remember all of my exact work history.

Without my computer and phone I am lost.
 
Sounds ridiculous. So you are pretty much innocent as no evidence has been found but will probably remain suspended from work your reputation in the toilet and all your stuff siezed and cant expect a resolution untill at least september.

Thats disgusting.
