Re-making Classic games with high res graphics..

Day of the tentacle would be cool remade with 3D graphics... Keep the story as it was funny as hell, just update to a new fresher look.

LucasArts did some fine games back in the day. Another one that changed direction for the worse I felt...

Trouble is, we're all thinking about these great classics we remember but what made them great was that we maybe didn't expect it... to remake them now, would the magic still be there? I was thinking more along the lines of the younger players getting to play these games, I'm sure if we fired up a classic like Tomb raider 1 without 3D support (and TR1 used glide 3Dfx if I remember, harder to get 3D support with todays 3D cards. You can get a Glide emulator - I think) new younger players would scoff at the graphics, and maybe not give the game a chance...

Fire up Tomb Raider Anniversary with 3D support 4 x aa and 1920 x 1080 and younger players who've not played the game before can enjoy a classic and relate to the graphics they expect from games today...

Or have we all been ruined by the recent trend in eye candy? Plants v zombies is maybe one such example... !! Excellent game, doesn't need eye candy..

I would kill my first born for a new X-Wing/TIE Fighter game :(

Somehow doubt that..:p Still understand why you'd want this so badly... X-Wing /TIE Fighter games were just pure class...

They are just so ripe for a remake, they are perfect for a revamp and I'm sure they'd sell rather well... doubt we'll ever see if though, LucasArts just aren't interested in the genre anymore..

I would love to see remakes (same game, but new updated graphics etc) of
Privateer /Privateer 2 (and the rest of the early Wing commander games..)
Mechwarrior 2 /Merc by far the best of the Mechwarrior 3d games, much better than 3 and 4.
X-Wing/Tie Fighter

Unfortunately I suspect it'll never happen due to the costs involved, and the companies having lost interest in the genres :(

I think remaking games like BG and PsT would be a mistake, I'm not sure they'd survive the transition to 3D without losing most of their charm. Some of the early 3D games would be great though, like Dungeon Keeper, Thief, Unreal and Homeworld to name a few.

OH and Homeworld... or Homeworld 2. I heard THQ reacquired the Homeworld license, but I want a new Homeworld...desperately.

HW2 still looks perfectly fine now

Not sure about HW one, if there was a widescreen patch then i think that would still lok as well

I would love the UT series up until 2004 to be in better graphics :) maybe even ut2004 in dx11

or maybe just a UT4 that actually includes a tournament..yknow..like what made UT99, 2003 and 2004 fun? :p

When UE4 comes to fruition I hope to see a UT4 and an Unreal game. Reseparating the Unreal Tournament side and the Unreal single player story game would return to what made the engine showcases for UE1 and 2 so awesome :D

For me DF2 loved that game, had many all nighter playing it. But it's nothing compared too BC2 or MW2, if it had a make over l would play it again no prob's.

Bring's back great memories and time's, was my first shoot me up lol.

Final fantasy 7 and 9
Medal of honour allied assault
Cannon Fodder
Delta force land warrior

That would be awesome!

Just remember, how much fun I had with the very original driver. I would love that to be redone with modern day graphics (and don't even mention the dreadful sequels to that :p)
