hmmmm what do you guys think of this new games deal?

briefly:
  • NEW games on day of release factory sealed
  • play them for 4 weeks then return
  • option to play outstanding balance if you wish to keep the game

obviously some people prefer to keep their games for ever but for the likes of myself i play a game and never return to it.
ebay is a ballache to sell on now with high selling fee's and you end up losing more than £12.99 on a game so why not chose this deal?

opinions ....

Sounds good if you really must have games on release day, I wonder what the outstanding balance would be though, I am guessing quite high?

well the new splinter cell game they have is £36.99 so if you wanted to keep it the balance would be £24.
if you thought the game was just average then its only cost you £12.99 to find out.
seems a win win to me.

Sounds retarded. Would rather wait and sub to a rental service instead.

Infact you could probably buy the game on the Internet, complete it fast and resell it for £30 odd.

Agreed. I sold Assasin's Creed 2 a couple of months after it came out on the bay for £28 and preordered Mass Effect 2 for £30.

Sounds like a bad deal to me mate. I get games day or two after release date from love film most the time I know what I wanna buy therefore it never goes on that list so comparing the two I pay £11 now a month rather the £12.99 each time I want a new game.

I heard that they dont offer the chance to get new games. Dont you ask for about five games and then they give you one of them if its available? (Love film)

exactly. its pot luck.
this is a garenteed service where you get the game you want.
its going to appeal to the casual gamer i suppose who are very picky.
like i said i cant be bothered selling games on ebay anymore. high selling fee's then some clown claims the game hasnt arrived blah blah blah.

Lovefilm for £9.99 a month gets you 4 games a month (2 at a time). Far better than paying £12.99 for each game!

Boomerang has its Unlimited Priority tarriff for £15.99 a month. You can have as many games as you like and they've always sent new games on the day of their release if you have them at number 1 in your list.

TBH, reasonably good games don't depreciate in value too quickly, so you end up paying that sort of price anyway (£12.99) or less if you complete and then sell on.

Sadly, I'm more of a collector :( 16 and counting. I tend to just buy cheap ones that are under £20 or so, but still good games. Bayonetta, Valkyrie Chronicles, GTAIV are good examples. Every now and again, I'll opt for a more expensive new one.

I'm contemplating getting this service, anyone else use it?

Not if you've got one game on your list don't forget your over looking the price I pay 10.99 a month for however many games you'll end up paying 12.99 each game. boomerang sounds better I'm thinking of switching over eventually.
