I-Kube Insurance - Cheap Insurance for young drivers

You think that a high-risk postcode is purely based off auto-theft?

There's that and the fact that MK4 Fiestas aren't exactly hard to break into to if a youth fancies a quick joy-ride, they'd most likely steal my car over a more modern car. It doesn't even have an alarm or deadlocks.

Theft would be the major cause surely, it's not like arson or just random vandalism is that common?

Not at all as car theft is actually pretty rare now on mainstream cars. It's mainly based on accident payouts. Strangely enough the data I saw whilst working at Direct Line showed a similar patern in terms of injury claims (false?) to what used to be considered high risk areas for car crime. ie poorer areas seemed to have a higher number of accidents/injury claims.

Arson and vandalism are minor threats, and since theft is now a smaller risk too as you said then why do high risk post codes still exist?

Perhaps its as simple as more crashes happening in those postcodes? Or just that more people put claims in within those post codes.

What impact does that have on anything?

Traditionally bad postcodes was due to theft and vandalism, but both are way down now

As I posted above, accident/injury claims seem to follow a similar patern in terms of area to car crime.

Not working in insurance I cant give a definitive answer, but I imagine the reason would simply be that more claims are made in certain post codes than others. It seems reasonable that there would be more insurance claims made within central London than there would be in a little sleepy village regardless of it being an accident or theft / vandalism. One are is still more likely than another to make a claim.

Cheers for this Happy.

It would be interesting to see how much cheaper than Bell they cost, as Bell is the cheapest I've found so far. If it saves me like £600, then why not.

It says on the website if you do use the car after 11pm, they charge £45 a night. Also fully comp!

Great idea. For many 17 year olds this will be a decent alternative to fronting andmen they are actually insured. Sure it won't be for everyone and Jonny Chav won't use it for his modded Corsa but that is not their target market. If it saves decent young drivers money it's a good call - one or two years where you are slightly restricted is worth it to save ££££'s for me.
