I was just waiting for you to pipe up. No, not everyone can make a meet at short notice, but some of us want to and can. ;)
 
Tbh it's not enough notice, no. I need WEEKS to plan my 20 minute jaunt down the road to the meeting point.
 
We get the point, if your weekends are always empty or you live next door to the meet, you don't need notice.

But the fact you have 3 confirmed attendees versus 30 at the last meet kinda shows this isnt the case for everyone else :)

The thread was simply put up instead of derailing the other thread, so that anyone local might see the thread and can join us on Sunday if they're free. The weather's lovely, people here love driving, nowt wrong with that. We're not expecting 15 people to turn up :p

If there was a month's notice would you drive all the way to Surrey for some lunch and a drive? Probably not. I doubt many people would travel much distance anyway.
 
Are you offended because they're calling it an OcUK Motors Meet or because you can't make it? I don't see a problem with random dudes making an off-the-cuff meet because they have nothing else to do.
I'm going to demote myself to "maybe not" because it looks like I might be headed the other way to Kent.
 
A possibly maybe if you Surrey boys will have me.

I'm due to come back from Charlton on Sunday and whereas it's not exactly on the way, I could possibly make a detour and come back down the A24.

All depends on how battered I get on Saturday night and whether lunch plans with the family materialize on sunday.

Would also be a golden opportunity to get a ride in the supercharged hairdryer :D

No from me as my car is still in the hospital down Hampshire.

Possibly picking it up on the following saturday after your meet, but a loneranger meet can be had anywwhere :D.
 
Can we just leave the issue of "notice" well alone please? I really don't see the issue if only 2 people turn up quite frankly. I'm not trying to organise a mammoth meet, my plans for this weekend changed last minute, I fancy going for a little drive instead, I wondered if anyone wanted to join me. I felt like I was being sociable by inviting others. Some of you seem to think this is worth having a moan about. Next time, maybe I'll go find a forum who do appreciate it. Jeez.

I wouldn't get wound up about it mate, if you going to be there anyway - who gives a **** what anyone else thinks.

It's decent of you to open up the invite.
