Volcanic ash making car extra dirty?

ST16, some definate dust stuff visible on the windscreens. Read some advice on another forums to blast the hell out of it with a pressure washer before handwashing, as volcano ash is apparantly quite abbrasive and you can rub and scratch your car if you do it by hand.

Noticed a few black splodges on my boot lid, not parked near any trees so I guess it was probably some ash fallout.

I've got better paint on my front door so I'm not too fussed about it, I'd guess one of those foaming soap guns would be best though.

I can only imagine the people who take it to hand wash places, oh those swirls will take some work :)

Washed my car on Sunday.
Parked my car in Birmingham last night, woke up this morning and it was filthy, really dusty.

Cornwall, 2.

I would post pic as proof but i dont want to create 8 pages of people telling me they cant see the car in the picture.

Was down very close to the coast (Down there regluarly) and the cars did seem more dirty than usual..
EDIT: paradigm stunning example of an e46 there mate :)

What bicycle? :(

No lolcano dust on the Land Rover, house, dog, chickens or other items dotted around the place though.

How on earth did you determine the dust content of your chickens and dogs? :p

Mine's probably about a 3 or 4, but was a bit grubby to start with :)
