New 3 series revealed

Certainly a lot prettier than the launch E90 was. It will be interesting to see how the M Sport ones look.

I quite like it.

I don't like it. Looks like an E90 with a ruined front and rear end.

EDIT: Although given that looks nothing like the car under the camouflage, I'm going to doubt the validity of the first two shots.

Aye. Autoexpress renderings are very hit and miss.

Lets see...front end looks schlonky but reserving judgement.

I think it was posted a little tongue in cheek. Everyone knows that BMW are the best manufacturer of anything, probably in the galaxy.

Further up the range, a new 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo unit will offer the performance and soundtrack that BMW buyers have become accustomed too. However, to improve efficiency it will be available with an all-
new eight-speed automatic transmission and stop-start.

Sounds like it will be good in an M-Sport variant.

Yawn at everything else though.

They need Bangle back. BMW's new range is going to be as dull looking as Audi's current range.

Agreed. People slated Bangle, but his designs were superb in all honesty. For people who didn't immediately take to the looks, they took a year or so to become accustomed to them, and they always looked aggressive in M-Sport guise.

That a photochop hash up or photos from Bavaria?

If you open the bonnet on the 3 cyl. version you'll just see the road. I bet you could climb in and sit on the slam panel to service it.

This, they are getting to look rather generic german saloon these days.

I guess its where the money is, my eyes were opened somewhat after a short stint in a Swindon M4 business park over the last few weeks (i normally work in London where you see proper cars :p) where the huge carparks were full of newgen boring 1/3/5 series BMW's, Audi A4/5/6, almost all diesel, almost all on 09/59/10 plates. You can barely tell them all apart these days.

Boring indeed. A shame but luckily a segment of the car industry i am not too interested in anyway so i wont let it bother me.

I think Jaguar have it nailed, I wonder when they will replace the X Type, TBH in the grand scheme of things, they appear to be a pretty decent rival to BMWs.

Indeed, the XF certainly bucks the trend as far as you really can within this segment. I wonder if we will eventually see a cycle where the BMW/Audi (And Mercedes with the boring range of C&E's) brands start to lose popularity through the pure cliche which will surely begin to become apparent even among the most drone like office park worker? How much longer can this trend of dullness last?

I think the people that buy these cars look at benefit in kind, fuel consumption and badge and then find a car to match.

99% of people don't care how a car feels to drive.
