Hi guys i recently updated to 197.45 drives for my gtx260 and now it keeps getting hot when running in 3d mode. I also use riva tuner and have the fan speed set on auto (on widows start up). What seems to leave the fan @40% until it get above 90oc!!!!!, then it shoots upto 100% fan speed. I never had this problem with the older drivers. Any ideas gents what could have caused this gents?

I had issues with all the drivers with my gtx260, the auto fan management is rubbish for me. So I have downloaded evga precision, then set a profile with 65% fan speed so I can use a keyboard shortcut to put the fan up when I enter games or 3d intensive tasks, so temps would stay quite low.

PS: You don't happen to have a xfx gtx260 do you??

Will give that a shot, Cheers mate. And yes i've got a xfx, How did you know?

I think these xfx's arent the best GTX260 brand to get. They seem to have issues with auto fan speed not being as aggressive as it should be and not downclocking when in 2d mode?? But saying that, its pretty sweet once you keep the temps down!

Also mine has a rattle when starting up from cold as the fan hits the shroud! No point RMAing if it works fine otherwise!

Don't worry, they're the Fermi Appreciation drivers, they make your card go "Poof" so you've got a good reason to upgrade to a GTX400.

Drivers previous to it will have been lowering performance. :D
