In case nobody noticed, L4D2, £19.99

Get some friends to play it with then? It has plenty of life through versus and scavenge matchmaking, far, far more than the first. That game really did get boring fast.
 
A map pack with more maps than the original, new weapons and SI (the biggest change is new SI). I'm intrigued how many of the people saying this have ever bought a sequel before...


400 hours and still going here
 
It is undeniably a poor sequel, but it's also a good game. I haven't played it much but I do think it was worth the £20 or whatever I paid for it.
 
I disagree with some of the comments here. The single player mode could get quite boring quite quickly I suppose, but the multiplayer (versus/team versus) is holding my interest and is great fun when played with a regular team of players.

The comms that occurs during the game as well as the lols makes me keep coming back for more and i'm 400hrs+

Your right. It only contains a massive overhaul of several mechanics, 4 new survivors with huge amounts of dialogue, new special infected, uncommon infected, new guns, new items and 23 big new maps :rolleyes: Oh and the Midnight Riders who deserve a special mention :cool:

But yeah, its clearly just a mappack addon.

No I'm not part of any boycott group. Its just that I paid full price for the game when it game out and thought it was pretty minimal. I just dont think its worth the price of a full game.
 
It may be worth noting that there's a chance Steam will have this on offer over the weekend again so I'd hold off buying at least for a day or two just in case.

I paid £20 during the sale about 4 weeks after it came out and still dont think it was even worth that much.
 
To those who are complaining about the game being overpriced this game is really made or broken by the people you play with. Personally this game represents one of the best value for money games I've ever bought (though probably not as much as L4D1 :D).

The people on here are great to play with and I would highly suggest adding a few of the regulars from the OcUK names list (see sig for details) and trying to get all friends games going with them.

Once you get used to the gamestyle and tactics start to emerge the game really starts to come into it's own and there is a great sense of joy when you happen to pull off one of the more difficult attacks or molotov your team.

Ultimately this is going to be like any other online game, you will suck for the first few hours (heck, Steve still sucks after hundreds of hours) and this will lead to you getting destroyed by the more regular players but stick with it and you'll get the swing of things.

As for people complaining that this is only a mod of the original game, it's not and definitely worth the £20 asking price. Did any of you complain that Half Life 2 Episode 1 was only a mod and hence should have been given away free?

I paid a few pence over £20 and had it pre ordered as part of 4 pack and got to play it early :D

Frankly taking into account the level of aftercare Valve provide with their products I didn't care that this was released only a year after the original. This wasn't some silly "Generic Sports Name Game Year X" with an extra shiny face and WAG minigame, this was a well developed product with a lot of improvements.
 
I brought it for a tenner, I havn't got a tenners worth of gameplay out it yet though.
 
... and a lot of new and interesting glitches we know they'll never fix (along with the ones from the original that are still there)
