Volcanic ash making car extra dirty?

I'd be getting that washed off as soon as, if it is volcanic ash, its incredibly abrasive. Could leave some nasty marks if left.

I have a black car and have a lot of brown dust on it. Washed and waxed it on sunday as well.

That's what I do anyway

2 buckets of clean water to wash the mitt in, and warm bucket with the washing stuff in.

I'm going to wash it once again today then keep the car locked inside

Ditto, except I only usually bother with a single bucket for clean water and a single bucket for soapy.

Mine will also be getting a wash tonight, not because it's particularly ash-covered, but because I probably won't get time at the weekend.

I just caught the area around the keyhole on my boot with my knuckle whilst opening it. It looks like i have rubbed sandpaper across it
