Benefits of DGTeam Firmware?

Code:
ADSL Link Downstream	Upstream
Connection Speed 18976 kbps	1020 kbps
Line Attenuation 26.5 db	15.1 db
Noise Margin 9.7 db	11.3 db

Do you think I have much to gain?

Providing you don't have many errors occurring you could easily take it down to 3db like the guy above said and attain 22mb to 24mb.

Code:
ADSL Link	Downstream	Upstream
Connection Speed	4128 kbps	1051 kbps
Line Attenuation	41 db	12 db
Noise Margin	3 db	5 db

I've had the firmware sitting around on my computer for a while, wondering whether to upgrade. I was going to create my own thread, but thought i might hijack this one!

Would i see any gain?

Thanks, and apologies for the hijacking :)

No benefit at all as your line is pretty bad as it is. I thought my line was bad.. ( I get the same speed on both G.992.3/G.992.5 - more stable on adsl2 than 2+ )

Modulation: G.992.3 Annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,291 / 7,709
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 27.0 / 46.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 3.5 / 4.0

noise margin is 9.7db so in all honestly yes you will gain about 2-3meg extra in speed.

your syncing at 18976

with a 0.3db you will most certainly start syncing at 20xxx 21xxx possibly even faster.

my connection with TT pro LLU 24meg at default 6db i sync at 21xxx with tweak 0.3db i sync at the theoretical limit of llu 24meg wich is 24543 sync.

and that turns my speed into this =

you would not see any gain what so ever.

one other final note, useing DGteam firmware isnt just for SNR.
they also add adsl driver updates and firewall updates into the firmwares module aswell as adding new features to the router.

dropped it down to 50%;

Code:
ADSL Link Downstream	Upstream
Connection Speed	20248 kbps	1020 kbps
Line Attenuation 26.5 db	15.2 db
Noise Margin 7.1 db	11.4 db

struggling to find the error logs on here though?

Diagnostics on the left

then Display detailed ADSL driver informations

its in there.

I would try about 30% on the snr.

on 35% now, sync'd at 20884, SNR was 6.2 but has dropped to 5.1 now. Will monitor and then drop more later

Lol you think your line is bad:

Connection Speed - Down: 4375 kbps Up: 1170 kbps
Line Attenuation - Down: 51.0 db Up: 29.8 db
Noise Margin - Down: 8.6 db Up: 6.4 db

oh yea, I got a small increase from dgteam but nothing substantial.

My info ;)

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 24543 kbps 1019 kbps
Line Attenuation 14.0 db 4.7 db
Noise Margin 0.9 db 10.9 db

SNR at 0.9db? Surely you get dropouts all the time!?

nope

this past week i have had probably about 2 drop outs...
my connection is fully stable, i would probably also put it down to the distance i am from my cab/exchange ect.

look at my line attention :)

if you have had 2 drop outs in a week then it's not really *fully* stable is it? :p

i reboot my router every 3 days anyway regardless
and i also run 4 wireless hardware products aswell as wired to my router and it doesnt skip a beat ;)

im extremly happy with my connection ;)

Now it sounds like you're being as cryptic as possible just so you don't have to tell us why you need a new router ;)
