Adobe CS5 - Launched Monday 12th April

Can you set content aware fill to sample all layers, or layers below, to have it add the information into a blank layer? It's always irked me you can't do it with the patch tool. I don't like having to duplicate entire layers when I only need the pixels in the bottom corner or similar.

patch tool can link through different layers? ive certainly set it to patch from one layer, and patched on a new layer before?

Have you? I've never discovered a way to get the patch tool to work on a transparent layer. Where is the option to patch from different source/destination?

To answer my own question before though, no, it appears content aware fill can't sample lower layers and add the result onto a blank layer. At least not with the usual fill method.

EDIT: They've added two clickable options (top toolbar) when you have brushes (and other tools) selected to let pen pressure control opacity and brush size, overiding any settings in the brush pallette. Adobe you absolute bunch of legends!!

just tried it...

make new doc
scribble with brush, goto patch tool , hold alt and select area you wish to patch from
make new layer
scribble with patch tool

unless you mean selecting through a layer?

You don't scribble with the patch tool, you make selections with it. Are you sure you're not talking about the Clone stamp tool?

Anyone else noticed the ridiculous pricing of the UK versions compared to the US, for example the Master Collection is $2,599 ex Tax (£1700) where as the UK version is £2,203 ex VAT ($3300). How the hell is that justifiable!

edit/ O and the download price is about £50 more than the box price

It's called being British :(

Seeing as I work at an educational establishment, I'm hoping I might be able to get the Student/Tecaher version which as has been pointed out, is hugely cheaper.

Any one know what proof I would need to be able to get it? The Adobe site just says valid Academic ID??

Student ID with photo as far as I know?

I'm looking at it as a member of staff - from the Adobe site: "Faculty and staff—teachers and staff employed by an accredited primary or secondary school or public or private university or college"
