Yes, it really is. The exception is with the nationalist parties in their respective countries, but that mean they have any place in the national debates.

You're saying voting for anyone but Lid/Lab/Con is pointless? Righto.

Well I think it's because they're fringe extremists personally. Maybe it's chicken and egg but they poll so low that to allow them in you'd need to basically allow everybody to be there. It's going to be a fairly useless debate with 7 or 8 people fighting to have a decent say in 90 minutes.

Not everybody, you could at least have 2 or 3 additional parties which still have a large amount of the electorate behind them. You don't even have to have them in the 90 minutes, just give them some air time.

I'm trying to just get some fairness in to these debates. I'm a Conservative voter but still don't agree with the format.

Isnt that what party politics is? Groups getting behind a party because it best serves their interests? Im voting Liberal just for a change.

beyond putting your mark in a different vote box, what change do you expect from the Liberal Democrats exactly?

It would seem that Messers Clegg and Brown have far more in common than David Cameron. That would seem to be where the real change is.

However, the Lib Dems have no experience in Gov.

The Tories, I believe, have exactly one member of their Shadow Cabinet who's had a role in government before. Tony Blair's labour had none (IIRC). The only party standing in this election with experience of government is Labour - not seeing that as a reason to vote for them.

I don't see how Clegg's manifesto is financially viable. Is there a decent financial overview/comparison somewhere?

I'm so torn at the moment. I feel labour can actually handle our economic situation, but Gordon as PM just doesn't work for me.

Also, these fringe parties put up very few candidates, so even if you do decide to vote for them, chances are you cannot anyway.

I'd settle for a fair electoral system. The tories problem is their policy is so contradictory that even if you assume they're telling the truth it's impossible to know exactly what they stand for.

There's a big launch talking about the 'big society' but then it takes a back seat to traditional conservative policy for the next week. Was that meant to be the big theme but they bottled out - what are they actually doing??

Interesting poll on who would be the best Chancellor from the Mail here - lots of faith in Boy George there....

Considering that you berated the Daily Mail as a genuine or credible source in a previous thread, I am suprised to see you refer to it here.

Two idiotic smear stories unrelated to the thread at hand. A new high even for Gaidin.

To paraphrase "a new high, even for Mr Jack"
