Asus rampage III Extreme

EDIT: Also not the "Rev.2.xx" thing in the screenshot, obviously the manufacturing change VK was on about.

Not the manufacturing thing I mentioned - The manufacturing issue was to do with heatsinks, and will be no different to the unit the Helios saw. :)

VK give us a release date :p Am I right in thinking we won't have this until roughly the first week in May?

Yeah but they don't actually have it in stock, and estimated release is first week of May once again, looks like first week of May for the release then, getting bored of waiting for this now :o.

So it will just be in time for the Fermi cards to arrive. :D

Manufacturing delays happen, but I promise the board will be worth the wait - As you can see from the reviews.

Patience is a virtue. :)

Don't say that :( We all know Fermi will only be delayed another 2 weeks after it is "supposed" to come out lol. If the Rampage gets delayed once more I'll go nuts lol fed up with not having a proper computer to work on.

hello chaps!

it's now available in the US @ newegg for an awesome price of $379.00 USD .. compare to the x58 classy @ $399.00 USD. However you can't order it yet for some reason..

but in any event im so stoked! almost ordered it from NCIX for $430 last night. Happy with myself that I waited.

good luck to you all in the UK.

Some advice

actually i already own a 980x and i read the whole 16 pages and am confused about some points if some1 can help me clarify before i purchase this motherboard.

1) does it have a built in soundcard? i dont really care much for that much better sound so is the onboard soundcard good enough?

2) will this mobo work with my 980x and 6gb corsair ram 2000 mhz ?

3)if this has 1 usb header and i am planning on fitting in the Cosmos Sport will that mean i can only make use of 2 out of the 4 usb ports at the front panel?

4)any1 know with the megahelms cooler with 2 fans, can i fit in the NB cooler?

5) with the same cooler how many ram dim slot will i cover, (UD7 has 1 dim covered with this setup)

Yes:

Realtek 8-Channel High Definition Audio:

- Blu-ray audio layer Content Protection
- Supports Jack-Detection, Multi-streaming, Front Panel Jack-Retasking
- Supports 1 Optical S/PDIF out port at back I/O

2) will this mobo work with my 980x and 6gb corsair ram 2000 mhz ?

Yes.

3)if this has 1 usb header and i am planning on fitting in the Cosmos Sport will that mean i can only make use of 2 out of the 4 usb ports at the front panel?

Yes but you still have 2 x USB 3.0/2.0 ports (Blue) and 7 x USB 2.0/1.1 ports (1 port also for ROG Connect) at the back.

4)any1 know with the megahelms cooler with 2 fans, can i fit in the NB cooler?

Don't know.

5) with the same cooler how many ram dim slot will i cover, (UD7 has 1 dim covered with this setup)

Looks like it will be the same.

Does anyone know how to get this application on to your mobile phone? I cant find which phones are supported.

It comes on the driver CD. You just have to connect your phone to the computer and install it from there.

http://www.vortez.co.uk/contenttell...ampage_iii_extreme_motherboard_review,14.html

Supported phones
-Windows Mobile 6.1/6.5 based phones: ASUS P835, Garmin-Asus M10, Samsung i8000, HTC HD2, Sony Ericsson Xperia X1
-Android V2.0 or later: Motorola Milestone
-Symbian V3: Nokia N96
*Fear not, iPhone support will come.

I had it working on my N97 using Symbian V5 thanks to the physical keyboard. It doesn't support touch fully on the Nokia phone.
