***Official Left 4 Dead 2 Thread***

I actually enjoyed it, was quite short, but that doesn't matter. Loved the finale and gauntlet thing on the 2nd map, some great opportunities to get some charger action on those. The AI was pretty dumb, and the tank ran into a post for 30 secs whilst I kept shooting it, but I guess it is meant to be played with humans, not bots.

Looking forward to getting my friends and trying again :D
 
For the amount of time spent on it I was kinda disappointed. I mean Valve have a whole team of people working on this game and I'm sure they could have done a little bit more for the dlc. Perhaps they have or will, as I don't expect this to be the last dlc we shall see this year but just can't help but think it could be a tad longer. Was a fun blast anyhow.
 
The maps were great but the whole... interaction thing seemed very meh. Especially when you find Bill dead and theres no real explanation. I can see the constant haxxor aimbotting from the other survivors becoming incredibly annoying on the finale.
 
just rename the addons folder to -addons and restart the server, it means it runs with no addons and stuff but will at least work whilst they updame Meta Mod.
 
I haven't play it yet. I finished it last night but too late for me to play the whole thing.

From the comments of the guys I have seen so far I am really not surprised. All the Valve promises about new content, etc and then selling everyone down the river for another £20 to buy L4D2 was a joke in the first place.

Sounds like this has had even less impact than the main L4D DLC with lighthouse and survival mode...glad I don't get my hopes up at all anymore with this stuff.
 
yeah its less of an update that crash course was

just give us some ******* maps valve... dont care for this story **** or the little gimmicks like foot lockers XD

2-3 more campaigns and id have been over the moon

yeah, I'm gonna have to remove them from my server

and fallen survivor seems to carry medkit,pills and molotov... but doesn't burst into flames anymore :( luckily they seem to be rare and I didn't find any medkits apart from what they were carrying... so might leave them in
 
I admit I was expecting more but it was free, so I'll not complain.

Using the M60 as a magnum that doesn't need reloading is fun, but I never tried hitting any zombie heads off with a golf club - I'll do that tonight :D would like to get a closer look at the fallen survivor, but the bots kept shooting him before I got close. The Realism Versus looks like it might be fun.

As for the levels themselves, some of it looks good, some of it looks a little uninspired - purely from a level designers point of view. As a player, I can't see many teams making it past the second level unless the enemy team is hopeless or you're really well-drilled. Will need a couple more playthroughs though. When I first played Crash Course I thought it was rubbish, but it grew on me :)
 
hopefully mm/sm are fixed by tonight, don't want to have to play vanilla.

also, can you play realism versus on team versus? or is it just 8 player lobby only?
 
Updates running atm. Disabling addons as suggested for now. Will try and get the new version of metamod on there tonight if it's out and I'm not too filled with beer.
