Hi all, I know we had a thread simular to this a few months ago and that we already have a Left 4 Dead thread, but I thought with the demo for the second game due out soon, that it may be worth having a thread for it. I will try to keep the first post (I.e. this one) updated with any ocuk server IPs and ways to connect to them as well. I'm really looking forward to this game. :)

I am constantly updating this thread's first post with relevant information as time goes on so people can keep checking back here for server details etc.

What do people think about making a new steam group as well? Or shall we just use the OcUK Left 4 Dead group we have already?

Note: If someone makes it then being a group made for OcUK, you have to be prepared to make some other people admins and give them full control.

Are the 5 campaigns in the first one going to be in the second one?

They WERE mentioned initially that they might be, but it's currently unclear. I'm sure maps like No Mercy Revival (A Custom campaign made with more versus ladders etc) will be switched to l4d2 though, giving us no mercy in l4d2...

Tbh, I'd love for No Mercy to make it to the 2nd game. Not so bothered about the rest however...

I don't get why people like NM hat much it;s far too much indoors/underground stuff.

DA all the way! (aside from the terrible terminal level)

For me No Mercy was the one with the best atmosphere for the game. Also there were less stupid camping spots for survivors and it generally felt better to play. DA would be good if the finale was more like the promaps one for default. Also I generally find DA too long most of the time.

Demo Information has been released.

Pre-Order Now and Be the First To Play

Oct 15, 2009 - Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced details and timing for the demo of its upcoming zombie thriller, Left 4 Dead 2.

The Left 4 Dead 2 demo will feature gameplay taken from "The Parish" campaign, set in the New Orleans French Quarter. Playable by 1 to 4 players over local or Internet connections on both the Xbox 360 and PC (with two-player split screen available on the Xbox 360), the demo features all the new boss infected zombies and all the new melee weapons included in the full product.

Those who pre-order the game (at participating retailers or via Steam) will obtain early access to the demo on October 27. The demo will then be made available to Xbox LIVE Gold members and all PC gamers on November 3. Then all Xbox LIVE members will obtain access to the demo on November 10.

Coming exclusively to Xbox 360 and PC, L4D2 promises to set a new benchmark for co-operative action games and become one of 2009's marquee titles. Set for release on November 17, the title adds melee combat to enable deeper co-operative gameplay, with items such as a chainsaws, frying pans, axes, baseball bats, and more.

With the AI Director 2.0, L4D's dynamic gameplay is taken to the next level by giving the Director the ability to procedurally change weather effects, world objects, and pathways in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match the players' performance. The result is a unique game session custom fitted to provide a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience each time the game is played.

Adding new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons, and items, Left 4 Dead 2 offers a much larger game than the original, featuring more co-operative campaigns, more Versus campaigns, new Survival maps, and the new competitive game mode, Scavenge, all available at launch.

For more information, please visit www.l4d.com

Taken from steam announcements. Looks good to me. :)

12 more days to go, un-til the demo... :p

L4D2 will be **** on xbox. PC all the way!

Let's NOT turn this thread into a battleground for xbox vs. PC.

I hope for the xbox players' sake that the viewing distance has been improved for them on this game though. I've read in numerous places that you can't even see the gas station until you are right next to it in the first game.
