How hard can be it be to sell a car :/

I'm happy to drive them around in it (which I state), and to be fair driving the car yourself shows you nothing beyond being driven in it with respect to a used car.

Hahaha are you joking? Driving it yourself shows you nothing? Get a grip and stop being so precious, you are selling an old banger not an R34 Nissan Skyline. No test drive no sale its really that simple. There are many, many things you can hide on a test drive if the seller is the only one who drives!

Anyone who'd buy a car without test driving it is a fool.

I guess I'm more trusting, I'd buy the car just on looks (ie well maintained) and how the owner comes across

It would be a simpler if there was a plug and play harness, but there isn't which means I need to work out what all the wires do :/

If you cant be bothered to spend an hour or 2 sorting the car out and advertising it properly, you cant complain that it's taking a while to sell

May have someone going to look at it on Sunday, via eBay of all places

Why are you so impatient? To get a good price I'd wait at least a month and hear a dozen of offers and viewers.

For a £10k+ niche car maybe but not for a £700 job.

In my limited experience if your car is the best in the price range that you have it for sale at you won't have any trouble shifting it. In fact my problem when selling the 306 was managing all the enquiries.

In the end my girl friend ended up selling it whilst I was picking up my Octavia, and she got £100 more than the minimum I wanted for it :D

There is more demand for 306s that semi-niche Japanese cars though. Every chavsky around wants a 306 or similar as they "grow up" and thus need an upgrade

i know it's not really helpful to the thread, but when I sold my car, I got full price for it and within 24hrs of putting the advert up! :o

Points to note:

Good service history
Good maintenance
Good condition
Good pictures
Honest and complete description
Honest price
Good use of the English language
Being uber smooth

:D

Either that or I'm a mug and sold it for a bargain! :p

When i was trying to sell my last skyline (about a month or so ago) i was selling it for a resonable price for the mods.

In the end i had to drop the price to two grand and still didnt get anyone for a long time, was getting selling it for the price i did.

Im afraid its a buyers market out there at the moment mate.

True but whilst the demand is higher the supply is also greater so swings and roundabouts.

The fundamental issues that may stop your car from selling have been pointed out though.

As I said someone is coming to view it, which means I probably need to actually have a shave so that I look less like a random hippy bum

Either that or they took one look at you, worked out that their arms may be removed if they annoyed you, paid and scarpered. :D

Let us know if it sells or not.

I'm oddly attracted to the idea of this car as a run around. The novelty of public transport has already worn off :o.

Novelty of public transport ... lol
There is no such thing, public transport is annoying from the first second you contemplate using it (says me who will probably end up catching 2 or 3 trains to go to Teeside to buy the replacement car ... if this sells on Sunday :D)

:/
USELESS PEOPLE!!!!

Had everything agreed for dude to come and see car today, he said he'd call me before setting off.

No call and no dude :(

I just want this car gone :/ It's stopping me buying something cool :(
