Metro 2033: £12.98

Didn't realise red faction was thrown in too. Shame I already have it. A good game, but I have Just cause 2 - which is the same theme, but soooooooooooo much better!

^^I agree. For me it has got to be the best graphics I have ever seen. I assume if it's a combination of the graphics engine capability with artistic style. For example a piece of wood or metal in the game has a grainy or scratched appearance, such detail like I remember seeing in 'Painkiller' when it first came out. Where as a game like Cod 4, although graphically okay, imo just has that shaded, pastel look about it, not really sharp detail.

I see Gamestation have also got Tabula Rasa in their sale... Surely someone their must have realised?

I noticed that play where doing the same with T-R
ordered it and sent them an email "I will be able to play on the servers, right? you're not selling a product that is defunct, right?"
my orders been cancelled. wonder what GS will do.

Looks nice but it's pretty dull and linear as ****. Probably worth a tenner but don't expect a shining example of the FPS genre because this isn't it.

I normally dont mind linear games (ie COD series) as they tend to have an illusion of scale even though your being forced down the same patch time and time again. However metro 2033 doesn't have this for most of the game.

As for the comments about the gas mask and filters it seems to be bugged or just automatic as you dont really need to do anything and most of the time you cant even pick up new filters for it anyway. Personally I found most of the weapons utterly useless and ran around using the pistol + its modified versions until I picked up the proper sniper (VSS i think) and then used that for most of the game.

Some of the levels feel pretty tense but I get a lot more feeling of dread playing AVP on nightmare as the marine

Is it worth playing with a pad as its a Games For Windows title, I've got a pad just need to get one of the wireless link gizmos for £13. Don't want to be too disadvantaged trying to aim with sticks, anyone played it on pad?

Does anything think it will come back in stock at the same price? I went instore today and they had it for £20, why an extra £7 instore, rip-off.
