Hi guys,

about to put up my grandparents 2003 '03' C200 Kompressor 'Sport Coupe' up for sale, and was wondering if anyone on here could give me a hint as regards to a fair private sale price.

Could do with a quickish sale as they are keen to move back to a saloon.

-54.5K
-Auto
-Full Mot, tax till Jan, 6k until next service, MB Warranty until August.

Any advice greatly appreciated...

Handy website, im shocked at how cheap omegas with low milage are according to that. Ive seen some sites with 2002 omega elites with 29k miles going for 5 grand, according to that though its worth under 2500.

£5,000? For an Omega? :D

Then again, you are in Ireland...

Omegas are not desirable cars.

Why though? They seem to be recomended on here quite a bit. Only real negatives ive read about them is some parts have a bit of a price premium on them. For say 3 grand tops its a lot of car (supposodly incredibly comfortable) and a lot of gadgets for the cash (assuming an elite model).

Whilst they were good, they were never quite as good as what the likes of BMW and Mercedes were offering at the time. And of course they all carried a Vauxhall badge which rightly or wrongly would have played on the minds of many potential buyers.

Do not get me wrong, I have nothing against Omegas. I think that they are great cars for the money. Right now I'm looking for a fairly cheap barge and a V6 powered Elite or MV6 is very high on the list, but If I could buy an E39 5 Series of a similar age and spec for a comparable amount of money I would not give an Omega a second look. Asking good E39 money (£5000 - £8000) for an Omega is laughable regardless of how many miles it has done.

Indeed, im surpised at the pricing but id assume these do occasionally change hands for 5k+ because of people getting sucked in because of the gadgets they come with.
