dolby digital true hd from pc to av reciever

hi guys i got a onkyo txsr606 av reciever , also got a pc with a creative fatality champion series soundcard , now i know you can send dolby digital and dts signals through the spdif down a optical cable to my reciever , although i havent done it yet lol , but can you send dolby digital true hd and dts master hd to my reciever , my reciever will decode all formats but is it possible to recieve them from my pc soundcard . also ill be useing powerdvd 10 which does support all formats ........im also useing win 7
 
You will either need a Radeon 5 series GFX card, which has an onboard sound controller that can pass audio via HDMI, or a very expensive Asus Xonar HDAV sound card. Thank the idiots who came with HDCP for that. Thought it would stop piracy did they?

Op is using PowerDVD - that doesn't support bitstreaming via the Xonar. That card requires Arcsoft TMT

Back to the Op: your soundcard won't support bitstreaming of HD audio. You need one of the ATI 5xxx cards for that to work with PowerDVD
