Eagle F1 GS3D's on the limit

Was out for a quite drive today, and I noticed that when the car was letting go mid corner it would slide-grip-slide-grip-slide-grip, in an almost bouncing sort of way. Is this because of the tread pattern or are all tyres like this?
 
Sounds similar to what my Eagle F1 Assyms are doing, fine to begin with then as you start turning in more just go all flobbery
 
The Asymmetrics on my RS4 took an age to bed in and at first exhibited what you outlined, feeling very loose both front and back as if they were under pressure and really caused the car to feel unstable at high cornering speeds though they did come on with miles.

How many miles? I'd of thoughts with 3k they'd be well dug in

Yes, think my comedy sidewall doesn't help either :(
 
One thing I have noticed is at full lock when manoeuvring at slows speeds the tyres simply understeer, push on quite badly which the PZero's never did.
 
You really need a tyre with a stiffer sidewall, or get some wheels that allow you to have a far lower profile.

I'm still yet to find a tyre (other than the PS2's) for the e46 that actually feel progressive.

The T1R's I currently have are better than F1 GSD3's, but neither are "right".
 
Mine (195/50/15) don't do that all, they just grip and grip and if for some bizarre reason they stop gripping ;) it's all very progressive... They're fantastic tyres and suit my MX5 down to a T



I'd suggest the car's geo needs setting up or they're just wrong for the car, or as said the profile is too tall for the soft sidewalls.. What size are they?

Agreed PS2's are an awsome tyre, driven both a 911 C2S and E46 M3 on these and simply awsome tyre, even in the wet as well.
They are costly but you get what you pay for.

Also driven on T1R's, an OK tyre and very progressive, though they squeal way before letting go especially on roundabouts.

Not a fan of F1's, how about trying Vredstein Ultrac Sessantas, they seem very good.

Can't say I get tyre squeal before the tyre lets go, but then I typically only "provoke" letting-go when the ground is wet.

They certainly seem quite progressive, but aren't too great on anti-camber corners, they certainly prefer be heavily laden.
 
The GSD3's on my Civic usually feel fine, occasionally seem to let go for half a second sometimes, but I think my geo is probably out, what sorta price am I looking at for a decent alignment?
