Can you buy a 12V to 240V AC Inverter 3pin socket...

My mate has boutgh a campervan,, and he's wanting to play his tunes for 3-4 days when he goes away in it and have parties or whatever.. Atm he's using a car cdplayer, car amp and a few speakers connected to a car batt, but it looks like he's gonna scrap the car cdplayer and use a lappy.. So Ive suggested that he wants a inverter and about 3 car batts to last 3-4 days

How would you guys go about getting your tunes playing for 3-4 days? He dont want to use mp3 players cos he needs something quick and easy to change and find tracks.

My advice is to use a split charging system that keeps the battery for the audio separate from the vehicle battery. Your mate would be best off investing in a leisure battery from a camping shop as they are designed to be discharged and recharged, whereas vehicle batteries aren't.

You can connect them to the vans charging system as long as they are in parallel, but I don't know how good a campervan would be at recharging a number of batteries. One would be ok I suppose.

Most inverters have a low battery alarm, so he would need to start his engine to charge the batteries when he heard this.
