Thats because the top brass who made those statements are Army/RAF and would rather have the money to spend on their service. Unfortunately this is what it has come to, in that the three services have to fight against each other for funding on their contracts.

Pretty much. Clegg may have the support of the Generals, but he doesn't have the support of the Admirals the only group within the Military I'd trust to give an opinion on this. The Generals are merely hoping to Point score.

This is good though, as we dont want thickies in a position of power.

Going to a private school does not make you more intelligent than someone who

went to a comprehensive. In fact private schools can limit experience of real life.

Thats why so many of them are screwed up :p

I'm not a thicky, vote for me.

Includes added super miracle grow. 10% extra free.

Given the various headlines, stories regarding Nick and the Liberal Democrats, I'm now definitely not voting for them either. Gordon is my man.

no I'm not I'm much cleverer than you, you're really stupid.

Anyone who thinks Cameron has a clue about what he's doing has to be really stupid.

I think Cameron has a better clue than clegg or brown, and I can pretty much guarantee I am more intelligent than you, purely on the statistical likelihood of it...

We've been through this before Fox, do you really want me to go through it agian?

Energy for Dummies:
Power shortages in the UK are estimated to start as early as 2017, any new nuclear reactors starting construction now will not come online until at least 2020.

You CAN get stuff done by 2017 if you expand existing power stations rather than building new ones, if you start building TOMORROW and if you are prepared to pay EXTRA to get to the top of the list for components that are needed.
If we don't start building soon then we won't have anything by 2030, as all the component suppliers are sold out for ~10 years to India and China

I really don't. :o I wouldn't dare say anything about either of our levels of intelligence though...

note that I don't praise cameron's clue level, just that I believe it to be higher than the other two. I do believe that clegg is somewhat shackled by having to defend the beliefs that emerge from the left leaning side of the libdems. but unwillingness to tackle that does reduce his credibility in my eyes.

exactly, some people are so deluded, especially the Cameron suporters. I don't much care who gets in as long as the system is given a kick (or even a nudge would do)

I do think the main party leaders especially Cameron are a bunch of slimeballs who would say anything to get in.

Cameron seems to be inventing policy as he goes along and he didn't have much to begin with. I think he knows he may well have blown it.

I'm hoping for some proper fireworks in the final debate, although I don't think we will get them.

Of course, that's how I interpreted what you said. I think Nick is being very irresponsible, to say the least. I think he's more than aware that his party represents nothing but the 'anti-establishment' vote, but I wish that he would act accordingly. I can't decide whether he actually thinks that the Liberal Democrats are what this country needs or if it is a huge bluff as he knows he will not will.

David Milliband put it quite well, "Anti-politics is fine for opposition, but it is not sufficient for government."

I think the only part that Cameron shone in during the last debate, was also quite a bad moment for him. The part where he asked Gordon to retract some of the things written in the Labour party manifesto (Gordon saying that he 'hadn't authorised it' was shocking as well), and suddenly invented a new policy so he could try and nail Gordon. Again, something I'm sure would enter into the other two party's politics, but I've yet to see anything like that.

Take a look at the Conservative policy leading up to the recession, matched spending, deregulation, the usual... Although Cameron did a lot better than I was expecting with Paxman, the first half of the interview did expose a few things that are worth knowing.

And Brown is not exactly being reasonable, his whole plan is to tax us some more, and then some more, and then some more, and then some more, and then some more .... and then finally a tiny bit more

Well in my opinion that is exactly what we need to do, but I don't trust brown to do anything sensible with the money.

go on then prove it, tell everyone where your arrogance comes from.

Incidentally there is a lot more to society than academic intelligence.

But please do expand on your reason for self adulation and then perhaps we can all bow to your superior intellect.

We need more tax?

WTF?

WHY THE HELL DO WE NEED MORE TAX?

Just my opinion given my position and willingness to pay more tax. I feel improvements to the support structure of society are more important than disposable income.

But I can see the arguement for less tax, I just don't agree.
