Another school half term and another visit to Colchester Zoo (photos from previous visits here).

Wish I lived closer to the place as it’s a fantastic zoo to visit and has endless photo opportunities, although this visit confirmed I now need a lens with longer reach since moving to full frame.

Those goats are viscious. Any sniff of a bit of food and they'll butt you until you give it up! Any shot at their eye level is to be congratulated.
 
#15 is my favourite.

Colchester zoo is better for photos than London Zoo imo. It's a pita getting there on public transport though. I went there in August.

Oh and, no monkeys? :p

I never got round to posting my shots of Colchester Zoo, I feel like starting a thread :p.

My feeling with zoo photos is that you have to get close and totally fill the frame or frame the animal so there is no distracting fence or barrier in view.

What body and lens were you using?
