Hi guys,

My trusty old sennheisers have gone down so I'm in need of a new headset.

It must have a microphone attached
It must be comfy for long gaming sessions
The sound quality must be good as well, I like to listen to a lot of music

I've got around £30 to spend on them. I was thinking about going for the Sennheiser 151s again but I've had them twice now, I think I fancy a change.

Also, I've never tried behind ear headsets, are they comfy? If they are I might be tempted by the sennheiser PC 141's, they look quite nice

Cheers

I can recommend steelseries 5H v2. They are very comfy with large cloth pads and the mic is very good too. I use it on my xbox (with an adaptor) and pc.

Where did you get the adapter?

To the OP: Ive just gotten a pair of DR50's and they sound pretty good and are only £20 BUT no pc mic attached as I prefer one on my desk :)

Cheers for the replies.

They look like decent headphones but they seems big, like an aviator radio headset or something :P.

That's why I liked the 151s, not too big but with enough noise cancellation

Big but good sound and if you have dolby headphone/cmss on your sound card they give an impressively accurate 5.1 simulated positioning for games.

Uriel knows a lot more than I do tho as he has prob had most of the decent headphones etc you could get :D

I'm only using my onboard realtek sound card so it probably doesn't support all that jazz. I think it's 7.1 HD audio though although that means pretty much nothing to me. I'm not too clued up on the audio side of things :)

what board some have dolby headphone. I have a gigabyte 770 UD3 that doesnt have dolby headphone on the ALC 888 chip and one 790 UD4 that does have dolby headphone on the ALC 889a chip.

I got it from a popular online auction site. First letter rhymes with flea, next 3 letter describe the final word in these popular lyrics

"sitting on the dock of the b£y"

...way to get around the forum rules right? :P

TBH, mentioning eBay shouldn't matter IMO, everyone knows about it, and anyone that doesn't must have had their head stuck in the ground for the past 10 years. It's links that are most frowned upon. If the item in question is something that can't be bought from OcUK, then frankly it should not be frowned upon if someone says where to buy it. It is completely understandable that if OcUK do sell the said item, any hints as where else to get it should receive a serious frowning, if that's even possible :p, and a temporary ban, or whatever the punishment is. Providing a link to a competitors site that sells the said item, even if it is something that OcUK do not sell, is a step too far I feel. That's my view, but rules are rules, and we are not supposed to mention the said auction site, or any other site that might sell the same products as OcUK. We are not even allowed to hint, so get ready to feel the pain, icedbullet. Just kidding. :p
