New Work Lease Car

£50 extra a month is just for the lease payment, the company car tax also goes up from £17 to £48 so it just isnt worth it.

I would have definately done it before i purchased my first house, but I just cant afford the outlay anymore on a car.

Days of 3.0 Z4's have gone for now :(

There wont be a mileage cap really, if its a company subsidised lease it will be a car he needs for work rather than got through work if you see what i mean. Therefore the true cost of the lease is higher, but paid for by the company, and any excess mileage charges will be paid for by the company.

The ones I quoted were company subsidised too believe it or not. My employer who shall remain nameless sucks :p

Yeah thats not good mate. Think the 118d M Sport coupe costs about £450pm on private lease based on 15000 miles full maintained but no insurance

Guys got a quick question regarding my car.

I have just noticed on BMW's website they are offering free upgrades on the BMW 1 series coupe.

Link

I am going to ring BMW tomorrow to find out if that offer is available on Lease cars too? Would be nice to get some free upgrades!

Does anyone have any experience regarding this?

The car looks alright from the ouside except for the fact it looks too short, like someone has squashed it.

This may be an odd question but I have to ask, how the heck did you get it onto your drive with all that snow there ? I'd be very sceptical indeed about mine making it up any sort of incline with all that packed snow.

Theyre not his pics. :p

Sorry to dig up this thread - just a word of warning to the OP. The Co Car tax is currently 13% on the BWM, but in 2012/2013 its jumping to 17%. Worth considering - I was going to get one for my next company car, but seeing that, I don't think I'll bother.

(say you were getting the 118d sport, with no options, it would go from 45 quid a month to 59 quid a month in 2012.)

Presumably though this would affect all cars in the same bracket so isn't quite a 118d criticism?

They are all going up - but I guess the 118d is in the 'top end' of the current 13% bracket. Other current 13% are going to 15% etc - so we are going to get hammered regardless; but with the 'only just making it into the current band b' more so.

Thanks for letting me know about the tax. If it doesnt come in until 2013, I will be in my final year then so not so worried. Is that the case?

Starts in 2012 - so I guess you could have 12-18 months if your unlucky. Government is clearly on the hunt for more revenue as everyone switches to more efficient cars.

To be fair, rightly so. It might only emit 4g/km of CO2 in an arbitary test, but it still uses the same roads we all do.

Nice car, shame you wasnt able to justify the larger engine, i am sure you will love it just the same.
