What's it worth?

Surely you want a convertible one if you want it to be a 'dream' for the summer?

This is the North East....I think a hard top would help me get it out more in the Autumn etc.
In what way?

If you were looking at getting a classic roadster/soft-top then I'd understand...

I wasn't necessarily looking for one, but I have been a fan of them for a while and occasionally look for a decent example

Summer? I'd be using something like that day in day out, all year around....

I can understand the logic behind people taking the car off the road in the winter but personally I just prefer to up the protection, make sure it's in good shape and keep on motoring. If you look after it the condition should not decline. Obviously if you had something extremely rare or valuable then that might not apply.

More miles, more smiles :)

What issues / problems / faults has he had? Anything I could learn from or need to know before purchasing?

He got it in pieces...it's still in pieces. :p

He is meant to be transferring the running gear etc. over to a clean shell as the current one is rotted to hell due to having not been looked after and just parked in a barn and left.

The linked one looks good, although interestingly no interior or engine bay pictures.

I can't say I know much about them really...only that you can drop a V8 into them. :D

I certainly see your point, and there'd be no reason why I couldn't do this as long as it was in as good condition as he is saying.

Hi TheDean

She has been very well behaved on long runs and has never overheated. I regularly do circa 100 mile runs with no issues. Happy on the motorway too!

MPG is around 20 - 25 on average.

I'll happily take some pics to show you the interior, as said in the ad, the seats would benefit from a refurbished but are ok. She has had new carpets, door cards, center console and tunnel, plus a new windscreen.

I should be able to get the pics to you tomorrow evening.

Regards

I have asked him for interior, engine and boot pics and he will have those to me by tomorrow night apparently. I will post those for people's thoughts.

If I were to use this everyday, what is the possibility of putting a decent radio / cd player into it along with speakers? Possible? I do know a shop nearby which would do the interior, and so, I guess they could just work round the speakers if I decide to put them in?

More pics...

Thoughts?

Also - What is the likely hood of putting a new radio and speakers in? Would the electrics need an overhaul?

Engine bay looks pretty manky, thermostat housing looks like it needs replacing and a dog has been crawling about in it. Find another, there's plenty around.

It looks like a dog has been put in the back...

I noticed that! Either a dog or they've been bundling old men in the boot.

Which is the thermostat housing? How much would it be to replace? I really like it though....and think I could get him down to £2,650.

Also - any ideas on the speaker / radio question? :p

The speakers/radio can be wired in easily, worry about getting a good car first :p

Euch. Pretty grim.

Also, it wasn't green to begin with and it's had a pretty rough and ready respray in green so I'd be wary of the fact it looks 'good' - but may be hiding nasty underneath.
