Hi Guys,

I've found a 40D body only on Talkphotography for £425 with 6850 actuations.
It's third hand, do you think this is a good price or i should try and get it lower?

I am not sure if i am allowed to link to the forums?

Advice is much appreciated.

Cheers, Tucks

Sounds about right, they normally seem to go for £400-£450. Make an offer and go from there. A bit of bartering isn't amiss over on TP :)

i think i will want Western Union mate.

i was looking at prices on the 40d, seems you have an Average price there.

Ok guys, looks like i'm going for the 40D for £420 inc RMSD.

Could you guys recommend me a lens for general usage and landscape pics. Macro can come at a later date.

18-55 or something? My knowledge is limited.

I had the kit lens 18-55 IS which was ok and you you can pick that up for not a lot of money. However I replaced it wth the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 which I found to be far better. The Tamron would be about £220 second hand (make sure you get a sharp one) against £60 ish I think for the 18-55 IS.

Another vote for the 17-50mm great "in-between" lens at that focal range, much sharper and constant 2.8 aperture over the 18-55mm IS that is the standard Canon product and a lot cheaper than the canon 17-55mm 2.8 offering
