For those of you that don't believe in global warming

wasnt there a study done somewhere in america for a few days when a bunch of planes were grounded because of the terrorist attacks or whatever where they monitored the weather and they found out that all the chem trails etc from the planes actually had the oposite effect people expected and they actually have a positive impact?
i seem to recall reading about it somewhere recently

Some agree global warming is man made and many don't.

I dont fit into either of those categories.

Whilst I do agree that there is global warming, I do not agree that its man made. Whilst I do agree that man may well be affecting the pace and degree of global warming, I do not believe that we are the cause of it. I believe its cause is natural, although we may accelerate/decelerate it I do not think we cause or stop it.

The fact of the matter is , we as the human race have not been around long enough, nor had the technology or even been smart enough to know such things.

It's all guess work and propoganda! nothing more.

I'd want raw data, not computer models which even Phil Jones privately admitted doesn't match up to reality.

IMO we should be more worried about deforestation and pollution than emissions of a natural greenhouse gas.

Journals need to stop having pre-concieved bias (so no more automatically stopping papers that do not share the consensus view just because they do not show the consensus view)
That's not true, I have at least one peer reviewed journal paper on my desk that is against the consensus view.

I for a second don't believe global warming/sucking our planet dry theories (much the same thing right?) ............. Until i started diving around the world , seeing coral dying due to know doubt people touching it etc. but there is no doubt,if not most of the ruined coral is due to man. Be it warming of the oceans and/or pollution. Now thats enough proof for me.

If its as bad as we are led to believe is another matter all together.......

He said it happens, he didn't say it always happens.

I don't know where to begin with that post.

I'll accept Climate Change at face value when we have enough raw data and powerful enough computers to model the situation. Until then it is mostly conjecture.

However if it helps stop us humans being so wasteful then at least it is achieving something. We simply cannot continue to be as wasteful as we are now...

If the world was at threat from warming up due to our carbon emissions then the worlds leaders would be stopping emissions as priority number 1 and not looking to make some money from it by half heartily taxing it.

I'd want statistics in a graph form covering at least a few million years of history, at least a couple of ice ages. If the graph showed an unnatural increase in temperature correlating with the rise in Industry then I would believe it was man made.

Indeed.

And even if it was man made, they've already got rough ideas of the percentage that humans potentiallycontribute to the world, it's a single digit %age from what I remember.

I'd want a broad range of data, different measurements, moving averages, and good correlation. And good forecasting. We have no control over the weather, we've only been around a short amount of time. I just don't believe we're powerful enough.

Even if it was proved to be man made, my statement would be, "so what" I'm afraid.

It's hard to say what sufficient proof would entail since if we knew that, we'd already know what the proof was. Suffice to say it would have to be something irrefutable to convince me, since I believe that there's more than enough plant life to process all the CO2 we could ever throw at the planet and more.

I also don't care if the planet heats up 2 degrees because natural ages have swung temperatures by far more than that anyway.

Agreed.
